Your response and comments overwhelmed me, thank you all for you’re for your interests and observations. In agreement or disagreement an opinion is valued because it reflects the intellect behind the author.

Without disagreement there will be no meaning for a debate the only difference between one style of criticism from another is the answer to the question, are we constructively criticizing or destructively denouncing an emotional reaction?

Abbey and iamthewalrus I strongly agree with both arguments:

Every country has people from outside their borders working to try to improve their lives.

And we must be tolerant of all who try to better themselves.

Your article was very well written, but it put ALL the blame for Dubai’s problems on Indians. I think that it’s a very biased attitude.

Why didnt you write about thie Indians who are the doctors? The engineers ? The Bussinessmen?

By the way, if it werent for the blue-collar laboures, half the buildings in the city would never have been built.Mainly because no Arab wants to break a sweat.

My best friend in Dubai was Indian; a highly educated refined businessman. My assistant was Indian and if want to say anything about her it will be summarized with “ aggressively intelligent “.

A good number of Indian people have helped in the advancement and the progression of the Gulf States. To these pioneers nothing but appreciation and gratefulness can be granted. Without the hard work and the diversity of the foreign work force in that part of the world it was going to be impossible to survive, taking into consideration the small number of the native population.

Yet again, Amrita and I disagree.

Amrita’s comment about my article which is related to Dubai to quote:

“You seem to have experienced Dubai and are now in Canada. The reason you moved to Canada, is presumably coz the Arabs did not allow you to become PR or citizen; Canada accepted you. That is what I was saying in my review.

Indians are not living in ghettos in Dubai, but the subdued mentality of Arabs forces them to discriminate Indians. Arabs need Indians, but are not ready to acknowledge. And boy what % of Indians in UAE are illegal? less than 2%.

It is not my habit to get defensive over other’s point of view, however judgmental nonsensical remarks, do call for some clarification. With all the respect to Amrita;s intense assumptions and distressed emotional response over the reason behind my living in Canada, coupled with the conclusion she developed over a nation and a whole race only by visiting one country for a few times.

I do not need to get any type of recognition in order to be successful in Dubai. I belong to the gulf and my blood is Arab. I am on the other hand, half Canadian. I lived in Dubai and was born in Kuwait and have been respectfully recognized in both countries.

Besides, the fact that millions of Indians are living happily in the Arab World who have most probably benefited from their lives in the Middle East generation after the other.

Hope that this will clarify the confusion
