Well since the 1990’s pub culture has really picked up in India especially the in the cities of Mumbai and Bangalore. So now that you have decided to go to a pub or a disc or something like that, you are in complete confusion as to what to wear. You certainly don’t want people at the disc to look at you and say “Hey dude, where’s the fancy dress competition:. Do you?

So don’t worry, the style master is ready to give you some tips so that you can blow all the beautiful ladies of their feat, just take care that these ladies do not have huge boyfriends and you will be fine.

Face - So if this is a big date, like you are meeting the girl for the first time or you plan to propose her or there is the VJ hunt on in your city, it will not be a bad idea to get a facial and a trim. Facial? Yes, you heard me right; the facial will get you a glow on your skin and will also take away any unnecessary blackheads which are common with some teenagers. It is also hygienic by the way. A glow on your face will really make u look better. And please don’t have a stubble when you go to a pub, it makes the pub look more like a senior members club or something. Shave before you go to the pub.

Clothes- The interesting part. Well the way you dress will always affect the people around you. Some tips which I think will be helpful when you dress out for a pub are

1) Jeans and a nice T-Shirt will always look good anytime in a pub. But it would be nice if you wore a funky T-Shirt with a cool logo or a message. Something in the likes of Nike, Reebok, and Versace(expensive) will look really nice. Try to avoid the likes of Monte Carlo, Lacoste or Crocodile as they look “executive” and do not really blend in with the atmosphere of the pub. Also age too play’s an important role when you dress for a pub. You can’t be a forty year old uncle and say “I am single and ready to mingle”! Can you?

2) If you plan to wear a flat front trouser, try wearing a T-Shirt over that. Try to get out of that stereotypical “Cotton Trousers – Full Sleeve Shirt” mindset. It looks very cool indeed and what’s the harm in trying to be slightly different.

3) Cargoes go best with Short Shirts and if you can wear an innerwear shirt like jockey and team it up with a nice short shirt along with a cargo, you will look a real smasher. If you have nice body, a body hugging T-shirt won’t be bad idea with cargoes.

4) If you plan to wear a jacket make sure that you wear a nice plan Tee Shirt inside. A polo neck T-Shirt with a jacket will look good on anyone. A suede jacket and leather jackets are the ones to wear.

5) If you are the more adventurous kind, you can wear three-fourths and sleeveless tee. The range of three-fourths is very limited but Levis have a pretty decent range there. Sleeveless Tees can be found anywhere.

Shoes - There is nothing much to talk about here. But if you tell me you are going to wear your Red Tape shoes with your cargoes, I am gonna kick you from here to Paris so that you can cultivate some fashion sense. Everyone knows this, but just let me tell it

1) If you are going to wear jeans, wear a Reebok or a Nike or some sports shoes like that.

2) If you are wearing a cotton pant, you can wear a Red Tape, a Lee Cooper or Gaitonde or something like that.

3) If you are wearing a Cargo Pant, you can wear certain models of Lee Cooper and sneakers(big ones) will go very well with cargoes.

Just make sure that the shoes are clean and well polished. People see the feet of the other person when they are not talking and you want to make a good impression.

Accessories Well there are not much accessories a guy can carry or wear but if you have you ear pierced(I Do!) a small stud will be really nice to look at. The rings look a bit too “punk” for my taste. The Belt you wear should match your shoe and not your trousers as many say. Choose a nice, sober belt which does not have lot of “chrome” on it. Don’t wear too much jewellery. You don’t want to look like a pimp daddy, do you? A pair of well placed sunglasses too can add to a good impression. Also take care of the perfume you wear. It should be slight and not heavy. People should search for the scent and not for the person. A good choice would be Hugo Boss, my personal favorite.

Attitude - Now don’t go ga ga over al those beautiful girls there and don’t stare at them for heaven’s sake. If you want to talk to a girl, do go and talk but don’t choose a cheesy pick up line like * Can I borrow your phone number, I lost mine* or * Can I see your tag, because I think you are made in heaven* and this one takes the cake * You must be really tired, you’ve been running in my mind since I saw you*. The best these lines will do you is get you a slap or a chilling stare. I am saying this because I have seen this happen. Just be yourself and you will do well
