Hi !
I have one question to ask. Apart from acting in movies (it is entertainment business, after all), is there any contribution to our society in any form? Like schools or hospitals for the poor, etc? He could have joined politics to make a difference. I don’t appreciate not joining politics as a ’’sacrifice’’. If you look at politics as a profitable business (90% of today’s politicians are utilising politics for thir self), then it is a sacrifice. He had a chance to make some social service, which he did not utilise.
There are so many things that one can do for our society to make our nation proud in coming days or make our lives better. First of all make it more civilised by not mourning the way we mourned the death of Dr Rajkumar.
It is my personal opinion that a honourary doctorate should be given to extra ordinary brilliance in science, technology, commerce, social service, various forms of art and many more to mention. I do agree that acting is an art, but it is more of entertainment business (that is, filling ones own pocket). I think there are many people in this country/state who deserve a doctorate in our country.
I do have respect for Dr Rajkumar for being a humble person, spreading moral values through his films. It is very rare to see such personalities, who did not drink/smoke even on the screen and reject offers from other languages sacrificing his own benefits for the love of our language.
