We booked an appointment at milann Indiranagar facility and since it was a first meeting were handed over with a registration form.
Filled that up and the wait started . Since we are a used to long waiting periods at such clinics(warranted or unwarranted is not even a question we can dare to think about) we went prepared.
After about 30-45 mins of wait we were called by the junior doctor /assistant to take down the entire history which is a normal practice followed by most of such clinics where the main Doctor based on whose reputation you book the apptmt. in the first place, is supposedly too busy for such mundane acts.
That done we were finally called in to meet Dr Kamini Rao, who saw the history prepared by the junior doctor /assistant and came to the conclusion that all of the test results were more than 6 months old and we will have to perform all of those tests again .Unless and until all of them are not repeated once again there can be no consultation given whatsoever. Well. fair enough .but could the doc have answered atleast some basic questions since we kept telling her that we were anxious? NO.
All of those questions will be answered in "detail" only once we perform all the tests(read shell out the cash first) and only then will there be any answers given.She did not even bother to look at any of the reports we were carrying some of which were as new as last month. SO the divine consultation that was provided to us was that we will have to do a few tests which again the junior doc will explain outside her cabin . Again . how can we expect the main doc to spare a few minutes to explain anything related to the treatment we had come for?
Total waiting time: 1.5 hours
Total consultation time: 2 mins(for which we had to shell out more than 1000 rupees)
The question here is:
- If the reports were so old that the doc was not in a position to give answers for any of the questions why did the very dependable junior not inform us abt it at the time of noting down the
history?
Why were we made to see the doc for 2 minutes just to be told to repeat all the tests again? Is it only so that they could charge us with the consultation fees?
Why is it that Dr Kamini does not feel the need to talk to her patient for even 5 minutes and hear out their problems before sending them for tests?
Based on our experiences at such clinics(and we have been to many across Bangalore) this was by far the worst place where the Doctor considering her reputation and the many awards she has been conferred upon. did not have the basic understanding of "hearing" out her patient. We went with high hopes . but were unfortunately very disappointed.
