I'm trying to share my exp. with Dr. Car, Hyderabad.
When I searched for used cars in hyderabad, I came across this dealer and paid a visit. A salesmen Mr. Kiran was very helpful and helped to select a car.(not all salesmen are professional. I was lucky to get his guy. Rest of them are unprofessional and lacks customer handling skills)
The process for finalization is like this.1. You have to give credit card to front desk before negotiating with Authorized rep/owner.2. You will be connected to Auth. rep./owner by Dr. car representative.3. if the deal is thru, Rs. 10, 000 will be taken as advance and rest will be have to be paid based on your agreement with Dr Car.4. The deal was thru. I paid full amount by cheque and took the car delivery by Sunday.5. I took the car to Hyundai showroom next day and came to know that ODOMETER reading is tampered by almost 3 times. Meter shows 40000 whereas last service at showroom was at 121000. (6. Took the car to Dr. Car. Met manager Ms. Monika. She was very helpful and got the money same day.
Now finer points I would like to share with people who in case would like to deal with Dr. Car is1. Every car will have name card details placed on it. It shows whether the car is put for sale by owner/authorized seller. So if it reads as authorized seller, most probably it may be a THIRD PARTY CAR DEALER.2. Dr. car and its sales team is aware of this fact.3. Dr. car name plate details clearly mentions a disclaimer that they are not responsible for ODOMETER readings.4. 90% of vehicles displayed in Dr. car are by authorized sellers.5. Dr Car is having a good service team which will help with documentation and name change details. offcource they will charge a fee for that.6. You cannot take the Car for test drive.
Now in general, I would like to share few things which may be helpful for people looking for used cars in Hyderabad.
Most dealers in Hyd tamper Odometer readings. One way to handle this is to take the Car registration number to ANY authorized car service stations. They can get entire service history of the vehicles which got serviced in authorized showrooms any where in India. Once you have service history, you can check for types of repairs, Odometer readings at the time of service and whole set of things. Most of service stations will provide these info by phone as well. So vehicle history is just a phone call away.(I used to call Kun united(Hyundai) service station at Miyapur and they are EXCELLENT and very very helpful).
How you will get vehicle history if the car is not serviced in any authorized showrooms and is done at local workshops.? - Do you want to buy that car.? If you can't get service history from authorized service stations, DON'T BUY THE CAR.
Always insist on speaking to owner of the car. Even if you happen to go thru dealer, ensure that you speak to owner of the car. Else. a strict no to buy.
ODOMETER tampering is very prevalent in almost all brands, (Hyundai, Maruti, GM, Honda) and hence never skip this checking for any brand.
ODOMETER tampering is not just done by car dealers. But some owners are also doing. So pls don't skip checking vehicle history even if you happen to deal with owners.
Ask all below questions in your first call with potential sellers so that you can cut-off fraudulent deals at early stage itself thereby saving your time. 1. Where is the car registered? 2. Whether the person you are speaking is the same person in vehicle registration card? 3. How is the car maintained? 4. Whether it is maintained at Authorized car service stations? 4. Whether it is having any insurance? 5. Whether involved in any accidents? 6. Car registration number? 7. What accessories are included? 8. Whether the battery got changed recently?
Survey online like newspaper ads, online portals to get used car values which may be helpful to decide about your offer for a car.
if possible, take the car to an authorized service station/local work shop for inspection.
Lastly, pls remember. Never be in a hurry to buy a used car. If you are really in hurry, please check with few reputed brands like True value, Hyundai advantage, My TVS etc. I'm not saying you will get a best vehicle here. But At least these guys might had basic inspections and verifications.But still remember the basics. The reason to refer these guys is to quickly close the deal even though it costs you little more than what it would have cost if you had done it alone.
