My sister took my mother to Dr. Agarwal Eye Hospital in Bannerghata road near Shopper Stop to get her eyes checked as she was complaining about irritation in eyes and watery eyes. Also her vision was not very clear. The doctor checked her and immediately told my sister that my mother has cataract and needs to be operated upon immediately or it may cause permanent damage to her eyes. They told to get the operation (laser) done at that moment itself, repeatedly telling that delay may cause damage to eyes. They gave the cost estimates and everything.
My sister resisted and told the doc that she will have to think over it. They were still insisting on counselling. My sister finally came out of the hospital and we thought of taking a second opinion. We consulted two other eye specialist and both of them told that my mother's eyes has no cataract but the tears have dried up causing the irritation and the spectacles needs to be changed for better vision.
Either the doc was bad or they just wanted money. I don't understand how a doctor can do these kind of immoral things, just for money. I would suggest all to always go for a second opinion when its about your eyes or health.
