Lijo Jose Pallissery has surprised Mollywood before with couple of his movies. But this time around the experimental movie he made was really a brave attempt. His name was popularized because of his last movie “Amen” it was really a trump card for his career. Coming to Double Barrel, before its release the director said that it is totally an experimental movie and watch it as you read a comic. I really appreciate the guts of producers to make this movie.
Laila and Majnu two precious rocks which worth a lot of money. A Don has the possession of these rocks. Because his son(Don’s) trying to take it away from him he tries to sell it. Pancho and Vinci goes to Don and make a deal with 10 crore price tag for the rocks. But Vinci and Pancho does not have any money in them for now but before the deal take place they(Vinci and Pancho) agrees a deal with Billy’s gang for a 100 crore. First they need to make money to settle Don and second they want to sell these rocks to Billy. What happens in between is the story.
Let me conclude there had been many variety and spoof movies like Aadu, Chirakodinja Kinavukal, etc. in Mollywood recent times. They had made on certain limits of experimenting but this movie had not limit in it. The people who went in to the movie was the real test material. The run time and tripping like sequences will make the audience annoy. And if coming with your family you will go out before the film finishes. I don’t think it’s a good movie and didn’t felt much of the comic behind this movie. But this movie may pave way for movie like this in future with better content.
