This movie is the one of the worst movies in a long time. Every thing about this movie is bad. Not even Akshay Kumar can save this movie. The acting is shoddy, the music is lack lustre, and the chemistry between actors and actresses and even the two actors is non existent. There is only one fleeting moment of relief in the opening sequence when the boy’s age that is bearable and indeed humorous. Other than that I don't have enough sentences to describe the quality of this movie. The child actors especially the one playing Akshay is pathetic, in the beginning you feel the movie is about 2 Gays and not just friends.

Bobby Deol is jinxed. He got the looks, the skills & the money. Unfortunately, all his movies are box office bombs. This is another multi-starer to flop at cinemas world wide. But we're really bored watching stories of friends turning into lovers, lovers turning into friends, friends being enemies, enemies being friends & so on. You can watch this movie if you're really bored. And I mean REALLY BORED What a pity, an established and talented actress like Juhi was totally wasted in the film 'dosti'. I am a great fan of Juhi and was disappointed to see her in a cameo role.

Personally, I think she is best working actress out there today. None of the mainstream girls who have inherited her position are at all comparable. Juhi Chawla is someone who has evolved from a very specific type of leading lady into a perfectionist as an actress. This movie about eternal friendship. Like is all previous movies this one also deals with emotional aspects of human beings but the story is too old and has been told umpteen times earlier. Karan (Bobby Deol) was wealthy and a mansion was his habitat. Raj (Akshay Kumar) had empty pockets and the sky was his roof.

Karan's jet ensured that he could fly if he wanted. Raj could only depend on his two feet. Karan had a family and yet craved love. Raj had loved to share, but craved a family. Karan was the eternal Casanova. Raj was the proverbial one-woman man. Karan had it all, and yet felt empty. Raj had nothing, but his heart was full. If Karan supported Raj at every step, Raj covered up for all of Karan's misdoings. They laughed together, lied together, loved together and fought the odds together all in the name of friendship.

Their blind faith in each other attracted the envy of the world. But it was this very world that never let them forget that theirs was not a relationship of equals. And how long could an unequal relationship sustain? Karan and Raj defied conventions proving that true friendship was above all such trivialities. But like a bolt out of the blue came a raging storm that threatened to sink the ship that housed the sentiments of the two friends. Was it ego? A misunderstanding? Or something more? Will it mean the end of their friendship?

Will they succumb to it or will their bond survive the gruelling test of time? Many talk about friendship. But only a few comprehend its sanctity. Dosti is for all who have a true friend or truly want one. Well, from the looks of the promos, and all the male bonding, hugging, hand holding, grasping each other, both Akshay and Bobby seem like India's entry for homosexuality in the forefront.
