DON . Review on Don: The Chase Begins Again

Diwali has come and always on Diwali/Eid there is atleast one huge release from bollywood. This year the biggest release maybe of the year is Farhan Akhtar new don. Many people would like to know if the wait for the anticipated movie is worth it. Does it live up to the hype of being an amazing remake? This is a big sure YES! Don has a lot of amazing moments and defiantly one of the best movies out this year. With a slick movie that looks so hollywoodish I have no reason to believe how this film could be pulled down.

BREAKING THE STORY DOWN

The movie starts of with the introduction of don, he is sitting in a café drinking some coffee, he goes in for a business deal where he approaches Chunky Panday and Don beats the hell out of him and some of his men, Then Chunky says you don’t know who you have messed with and that his men will find “Don” and he will pay. (don) Shahrukh khan says “Don ka Phakar na Mushkil Hi nahi… Namumki hain” And then the credits starts (my view a great introduction) Don is part of a drug Mafia based institution he is based in Malaysia he is a very evil and dangerous man he is very much know by a lot of people and police have been after him for along time he has a lot of his own body guards and men working for him so basically he is a very big drug lord. One person who is always on dons case is DCP DeSilva (Boman Irani) is on a mission to capture the Don but he seems to be having difficulty all the time as he finds it hard to find don all the time. Don does a business deal in India and Boman Irani (desilva) follows him to India on the spot of the deal. That leads to a car chase where don is on the run from Boman and he finally gets caught and killed by Boman Irani. But There is a plan he makes up as he knows there is a duplicate of Don called Vijay and he uses him to be don and find out information about the gang and dons partners by using him, this is dangerous for Vijay as he is nothing like don and he has to pretend to be Don and if he gets caught he can be in a lot of trouble.

Yes the story sounds like the old Don one but this story has a lot of twist and especially great surprises. The climax is the huge shock out of all of them you just do not see it coming and the climax is different. The songs fit in with the movie a lot and they are used in great ways to make the story movie forward, you might get a little board sometimes as there a lot of talking in this film but it’s still a new don with more logic. People my question the logic part as they say its not realistic and this and that should have happen and how did Don jump of the plane like this and that. I will tell you this is a popcorn feast movie do not bring your thinking caps on for this movie but trust me one thing everyone will enjoy is the action in this movie.

ACTION

Amazing action is all I can say about this movie, people who says SRK can not do action has been proved wrong with this movie. The stunts are really good especially the car chasing scene when don gets caught. The fight between SRK and Arjun. After the song Aj Ki raat was amazing too fighting in the aeroplane and many other scenes of action which is amazing when Boman and Srk was fighting at the end I heard quite a lot of clapping too.

THE LOOK OF THE MOVIE

The cloths for don looks so cool, the ties he wears and his hair style, the glasses, the locations looks really colourful! The movie looks slick and new. Looks like a lot of money was spent making this movie. Its all worth it as it looks really slick and cool and it’s a real treat for the eyes.

THE SONGS

The songs are all amazing the TWO songs that stand out is MAIN HOON DON and KAIKE PAAN. Main hoon don song is done so well showing a rich party of how a drug leader would celebrate being back. SRKS face expressions is really amazing in this song and he looks really cool. KAIKE PAAN is amazing as well great dance steps and very enjoyable song, SRK does his own version of this song and its really great to watch. YEH MERA DIL By Karenna looks hot, Its just ashamed she dies 3mins after this song.

ACTING

Shahrukh khan as Don is really amazing this is the new SRK no same old SRK laughing, he is totally different in this movie. He has done something so different here and he should at least get some sort of reward for it. People say he aint versatile at all but look at don and everyone will be proven wrong. Yeah I can hear people saying he does not match BIG B but for god sakes don’t match him like that BIG B has done his version of don and srk has done his. Look at his action as an actor not as a shadow of BIG B in my view if you compare him to BIG B all the time then no way you can like what he did in this movie because he did change don a lot like his attitude is more rude and ruthless to the old one. I can’t say much about Vijay as it will spoil the movie but SRK does really good as him too.

Priyankaa Chopra a character that works for don but really is out to take revenge for her sisters’ death (kareena Kapoor) she has never looked so hot and she has a vital role in this movie

Boman does amazgly well his best film he has done with such an important character and does really well, Arjun Rampal does really well in this movie and his story about him and his son is really interesting, well acted by him. Om Puri is strickly okay, I seen better from him (like Dev where he did amazing). Kareena kapoor in there for one song and 3 scenes and dies, she is Okay best moment is her song “Yes mera Dil”.

OVERAL

Amazing story, amazing acting, amazing climax what else could you want also topped by great songs and many funny and serious moments Don is a sure shoot winner.
