There was no doubt that I was the most interested in this remake of the Amitabh Bachchan classic 'Don'. After all, SRK is my favorite actor. Who can not eagerly expect an SRK movie? Even SRK haters expect his movie highly because they want the movie to flop!lolzz...
When I first went to watch the film, I was scared. I was seriously trying to keep myself away from comparing the movie with the original. because I wanted to seriously love the film. And after coming out, I was floating... Because the film way exceeded my expectations!
Story: Does anyone need to know the story? Its a remake guys!!! Remake of Amitabh's Don from 1978.
Performances:
Rest of the cast: All did their parts very well according to the demands of the director. Arjun Rampal and the deepu character did well. Om Puri was wasted in that role. Boman Irani was terrific. Isha Kopikkar was gud!
Kareena Kapoor: Wow! She looked damn hot in the film. She lit the screen on fire with that song "Yeh Mera Dil". No comparison but she was as awesome as Helen was! Wanna see her again with SRK. They look grt together on screen. K3G, Don and some scenes in Ashoka. Sad that Ram Gopal Varma has scrapped Time machine with SRK!
Priyanka Chopra: She looks really beautiful in this movie. Her role it not that huge but she aptly fits into the role. Looks gud with Shahrukh but which top actress doesnt luk gud with SRK? Danced well in the Khaike song.. Looked hot in the Aaj Ki Raat song.
Music: Wow! What fantastic job in remixing??? Some of the best remixes I have listened to. Khaike is my favorite, but the Maurya Re is now humming into my ears often. Aaj Ki Raat is lifted to great levels by Sonu Nigam. Udit is fabulous in Khaike. Shaan does well in Main Hoon Don. Sunidhi lives up to the hype for Yeh Mera Dil. Shankar Ehsaan Loy are right now the best among Bollywood composers for commercial music.
Direction: Farhan Akthar makes a great tribute to the original. He has incorporated various twists to make this movie gripping. Watch out the climax!!! It will blow you off, esp. if you have watched the original. The screenplay starts off very slowly and doesnt have high octane stuff, but its thrilling in various parts and has lot of smart humor in the dialogues!
Shahrukh Khan: THE DON of Bollywood right now!!! Marvellous! Extraordinary! Cant get more words to sum him up! If Amitabh immortalized Don in 1978, SRK recreates it in 2006. In various places, SRK imitates Amitabh, but I tell you, it looks even more cooler when he imitates those stuff of Amitabh. Someone said Salman would have fit the role. What a waste it would have been? Salman cant be SRK, who is the best! Salman accepts this and hope everyone else accept it that SRK is the best right now among heroes! Aamir has his own style and SRK has his. But SRK's power, his charm, his looks cant be touched by anyone including the GREAT AAMIR KHAN! One thing now I want is to see SRK with his best heroine Kajol. That would be greatly satisfying. All in all, TOP NOTCH PERFORMANCE!
OVERALL: What are you waiting for? Watch this film. If you miss it, then GO to H*LL!
