Don 2 : Darker . Review on Don 2

DON has a charm which can pull me to theater and makes me impatient like school days to catch the movie on BIG screen.After a long gap I felt like watching any movie again. Some movies specially directed by Farhan carries a different shade.

When I saw Don remake back in 2006 I was amazed to see the one of the most loved character of my school days. When I saw original one complemented by Big B for the first time, I was curiously waiting for a re-entry of Don which did not happen in original one but happened in its remake and it did really well in its forever after league. With the sequel to Farhan’s ambitions its raised the bar from the previous part. I think Farhan is one of the director who really understands the actual actor inside SRK.

After seeing SRK in Deewana, Darr and Bazigar and also Anjaam I was always waiting for SRK to return to iniquitous avatar. Don completes the wait. Its awesome to watch SRK again as DON. The move is made with full dedication and passion. The gloomy shades complements the effort and backdrop of the plot. The script with expected surprise element furnishes well on the screen. Some of the sequences are worth a watch and deserves to be mentioned:

-          SRK riding Ducati on a track with sea line both sides

-          Bike’s License Plate Number displaying Don 3

-          Title song…oh man irresistible addiction for listeners

-          Don’s exit plan

-          Malaysian cell sequence

-          …Boom

The movie flows with the swift pace without any unwanted disturbing song and magical background score. The story is somehow resembling with many other movies but has its own freshness and attitude. From performance point of view SRK has proved that he only can be a true DON. He played the character so well it exceeds from its successor. He excels as reprising the DON. Kunal Kapoor surprised in a role of techie genius. Never saw his good performance after RDB. I think he has potential and ready to wear DOGA’s mask. Lara looked ravishing nice to see her with SRK. Boman was as obvious wonderful as Vardhaan. Overall everyone has done a fair job. I think there would have been a replacement for Priyanka. I think Katrina woould have beed amazing as Don girl. Some new face would have added more charm. But as Don says “Kya karun ab Roma ek purani aadat ban chuki hai, use chhodna mumkin nahee hai ”.

It also wonderful to see the return of one liners which really deserve applaud and also got the same from the audiences. Can’t wait to see Don 3… and really hoping to see further sequels. The move has no use of any vulgar slangs and completely a Farhan Akthar film. Its highly recommended for action lovers and of course DON fans. You may enjoy it with friends and family.

Farhan you have really did a great job in portraying DON again. It became my second favorite after Karthik Callinh Karthik, expecting mammoth action and higher attitude in D3.
