First of all the title'Beauty Contest' doesn't mean anything. It opposes English grammar. How can an abstract thing can be contested upon? So words like'Beauty Contest', 'Beauty Pageant', etc. doesn't not mean much. It's all farce.

Beauty is not a competition on which some people can contest upon. Also, beauty cannot be judged by a panel of some 10 people. Everyone has his own perspective on the meaning of beauty. So, beauty definitely lies in the eyes of the beholder. One sees beauty as the outer appearance, but some go right skin-deep. The definition of beauty is yet to decided upon that no beauty contests can bring forward. I have my own perception of beauty, which I would like to share with you. I would also like to bring out the real picture of these beauty contests.

So, are you with me?

India: The Largest Consumer Market

India is the world's second most populous nation. With a huge population of more than 1 billion, companies view India as the ideal market for their products. India has various kinds of people, has various landscapes, and is gifted with various seasons. So, every company has something to sell over here. So, to sell soaps, the companies banked on the brown skin of the Indians, and promised them to make fair. So, the idea of Fair is beautiful came about. The Indians are definitely very beautiful people, but their crave for vanity was boundless. So, the cosmetics industry flooded the Indian market with various vanity items. They literally dumped their products in India. Each company was fighting against each other to be the market leader. Fierce competition, price-based war, rising demand, etc. became the feature of the Indian Cosmetics market. Then to endorse their products, companies started using models and actors. Then the beauty contests emerged as large-scale advertisements of products. There were immense flesh shows and exposures. People started loving such shows. Then these shows were conducted internationally, and the people's interest aroused further. To make the average Indian view such shows more, the beauty contests were fixed and some Indian ladies won! I can prove it to you. Remember, Priyanka Chopra was asked, 'Who is the living person she admires most?' She said, 'Mother Teresa'. But Mother Teresa was dead a year ago she was crowned Miss World! Isn't this all farce? In a row, we had many world crowns that were fixed already. Now these contests are aiming at other nations for their business. So, do not expect any other Indian girl to win in such a contest again, At least for another 10-12 years!

So, you see that to get a stronghold of the market, companies engage in such cheap techniques. It is known to the world now. So, beauty measurement is not the key aim of such contests, but profits and sales are the aim. Everyone benefits. The TV Company, the sponsors, the organizers, everybody get their share. And we audience view such shows and hope that one of our girls win. Oh! Just shut down your TV, and do something meaningful.

My Thoughts on Beauty

A person who looks good is not necessarily beautiful. Sounds confusing, isn't it? Let's say, you meet this gorgeous lady. She is too hot. But when you speak to her, she spills out nothing but bad words, and is quite rude. What do you conclude? You will definitely say that this piece is the ugliest in the party. Then you see this short, dark guy, whom you think is ugly. But he greets you with a smile, and is very good in his behavior. You just feel like talking to him more, ignoring how he looks. Isn't it? So what you conclude now? Is beauty is what your eyes see, or your mind feels? I think the later one is the right meaning of beauty. Beauty is what beauty does. It may not just lie in the eyes of the beholder, but might be attached with his soul.

People say that I look good. Even many people at MS saw my photograph and praised me for my looks. I thank you for that. But what if one amongst you and speaks me, and I just yacks at you, or am quite rude with you? Your views would change immediately, as my looks do not bring out behavior. Isn't this true?(say yes)

I always say that my mom is the most beautiful woman in the world. No one can compete with her. She is beautiful, not only because she looks pretty. But she has always been my support, and she always took care of me. No one can ever take her place. She is indeed world's most beautiful that no beauty contests can judge. She is God's greatest gift bestowed on me. I feel lucky.

The Real Beauty

One of my friends asked me, 'Hey, Imran! If you meet a girl, which part will your eyes see first on her?' They were obviously expecting something naughty. I still remember that mischievous smile he had on his face, expecting something cheap from me. I, in a very philosophical tune, said to him, 'I will see the unseen first'. He was bamboozled by it. His smile disappeared somewhere and he asked me that what I meant. I said to him, 'Friend, when you see your mom, you look into her eyes and know everything going inside her mind. When you look at your sister, you too see deep in her eyes, searching love for you within her. But when you see a different lady, your eyes shift down. Why is it? Just look her into the eyes, and see the unseen. Every girl has the power to enchant. You can see her honesty, immense love and strength right through her eyes.' I think I judge people quite well, and I also think that everyone that God created is beautiful. So, every lady is beautiful.

Just open your window and peep outside. You will see birds, trees, animals, flowers, and so many more. This is true beauty. You just have to open your mind to see this real beauty. Everything that's natural is beautiful. Everything false or artificial is ugly. This goes for humans too.

The real beauty is unseen, and is invisible. Everything you see is material. But when you see them by your insight; true beauty will be visible.

Final thoughts

Beauty contests may not always bring out the real beauty. It just shows us some 100 pounds of the prettiest flesh. This is my view, and I do not want to compete with some other thoughts. Everyone has his views and they are open to reflect them in their personal reviews.

I think I proved my points. They were valid and true.

So, when you see someone now, do not judge him or her by just looking at him. Go near to him, and talk to him. This way you are helping yourself as well, as you clearing his or her doubts about you. Isn't it?

*A person with a beautiful soul is the most beautiful.

A person with only a pretty face, is merely a showpiece.*
