We had planned for 2 Nights / 3 Days trip to Diveagar and Harihareshwar. We took the route Pimpri-Hinjewadi Mumbai Express Highway-Chandni chowk-Paud-Diveagar. Don't ever think that you will hv a very smooth ride to Diveagar. Also don't hv the feel that you will have very scenic coastal high way leads to diveagar / harihareshwar. Roads are not good. The distance may be 170 Kms from Pune but it took us nearly 6 plus Hrs to reach diveagar from Pune. Way full of Ghats, Sucks Fuel. We have started at around 7.30 A.m from Pimpri and reached Diveagar at 1.45 P.M. We have already booked couple of rooms at Hotel Pinakin. It just looked like a Lodge. You can't expect very high stadard here. They charge Exhorbitant during Season time. Pl. don't ever open their website. Its Virus / Trozan Horse infected. My PC got infected when I tried to open the site. I had very hard time to remove the trozan infection.
Hotel Pinakin Charges Rs.2500 / per Night for A/C Room and Rs.2000/ per night for Non A/C room during season time. A small Fride / Dish TV is provided in the A/C room. Extra Bed is available for Rs.200/ per night.Walls r not painted properly, cleanliness is not up to the mark. Small room. Service is not so good. You will not get hot water after 9.00 A.M. A/C's doesn't work properly if you set the temp. below 21 Degrees. Lots of voltage fluctuation. Fortunately they have generator backup. Ambience is missing. You can have breakfast / Lunch / Dinner only with prior order. You need to tell them in advance. Otherwise you won't get any kind of food anywhere in Diveagar. They prepare food on the basis of prior order only. The only exception is MTDC's Exotica restaurant. Pinakin's quality of food is good. You get Poha, shira and Omlet for Breakfast. Lunch will cost you Rs.60 per plate(Unlimited). Whereever you go you will find a mix of veg and Non Veg food served together. It smells fish everywhere. You get Thali and Poha for dinner. Also Non veg. Any time.
You cant find any kind of shops, STD Booths in Diveagar. Your will go out of range for ever. Reliance / Vodafone coverages are very bad in this area till Harihareshwar.Zero Coverage. Idea is better.
Beach is very clean and Good. Surely everyone will enjoy the ambience and atmosphere. No resorts are sea facing. You need to walk atleast 3-5 minutes minimum from the respective resorts or hotels. Climate is excellent during the month of Oct end and No need to go for A/C room. Pl. choose the resorts / hotels after going thro' other reviews. Even houses / Hotel buildings are named as resorts here. Be careful before choosing a resort. Otherwise you will endup with staying in a Building / Lodge instead of wadi / resort atmosphere. There was no other way for us when we choose Pinakin. All the other resorts / wadis were booked in advance. Golden Ganapahy was a treat to see. very small Temple. First you need to go the wadi from where the Ganpathy was found. Then you go to the ganpathy temple whis is located nearly 1 KM from the wadi (Wadi is 200 meters from Hotel Pinakin)
We have also visited janjira-Murud Fort(nearly 12 Kms from Diveagar). Again Ghat section. Motor boat is available every hour. It takes 2 Hrs to go and come back from the fort. This huge fort was constructed over an Island by Mughals during 16th Century.
Harihareshwar is located nearly 33 Kms from Diveagar via Shrivardhan. Again you need to cross a ghat. You have an ancient Shiva / Kala Bhairava Temple here which is worth to see . Harihreshwar beach looks very clean. You also have a Boating center in MTDC Resort ( Speed Bike and Family Boat ). They charge Rs.50/ per person for a speed boat drive and Rs.300 / for 10 persons for a round in Family boat. MTDC Resort in harihareshwar looks very nice and all the cottages are having one side full transparent glass coverage facing towards sea. But the only drawback is lack of any facilities like shops or hotels or No phone coverage or tranport. It will be pinch dark in the night. You may get scared being alone in the individual cottage.
We could find one more sea side cottages named "Hari Hareshwar Beach Resorts". Its just on the sea shore, very next to the temple, Parking lot and beach . They charge Rs.1200/ for an A/c cottage for a Day and Rs.1000/ for Non A/C Cottage. The persons name is Rohan and contact number is 02147-226002. But I don't know the Quality of the rooms and services.
Finally we have started from harihareshwar @ 2.30 P.M and reached Pimpri, Pune @ 8.00 P.M.
Never Expect any sort of beautiful beach side roads on the way. All these places are fully surrounded by Mountains atleast from 2 sides.
Getting Fuel is very Difficult here. You could hardly find a Fuel station. Atleast fillup 35 Litres of Petrol if you r coming from Pune ( based on the milage 14Kms / Litre in Ghat section ).
If you want to have pure relaxation, then this is the right place. These places are completely isolated from outside world. Couples can Enjoy more. You need to have your own vehicle otherwise it will be very difficult to move around. You can keep in touch with me on hariharan_sm@hotmail.com
