It was supposed to be a mainstream action film but dishoom clearly falls short of some good eye pleasing action sequences except a bike and a helicopter chase towards the climax. But dishoom can't either be put in the bad films category as it sure did manage to entertain us through the buddy cop chemistry of John and Varun along with multiple throw backs to past films. I am sure John wouldn't have needed a single day for prep as he seemed quite comfortable in his niche.
Varun on the other hand managed not to overdo his part giving a fairly decent performance. Rest of the cast including Akshaye Khanna and Jacqueline kept appearing seldomly throughout the runtime, just to remind us that they are still a part of the film but ultimately did just.
