I have been using Dishtv connection since March last year. The details of my connection are mentioned below.

As soon as the warranty of hardware expired, I started facing hardware malfunction issues.
About 10 days back, my parent connection stopped working. The technician changed the set top box and charged us Rs.550/- . After his departure, we came to know that around 50% channels are not working. We again complained and this time the technician checked the antenna too but found that the set top box was not working properly. He again changed the set top box. Upon asking we came to know that only repaired parts are supplied with a warranty of one month. The problem was resolved only temporarily for a week. Again the connection blanked out.
This time the technician who visited us told us that the receiver in the antenna has to be replaced at an additional cost of Rs.550/-. I tried contacting the customer care but no supervisor was available to discuss my concern. The executive promised a call back which happened after 36 hours but the supervisor was also not helpful at all.
In a span of 10 days I had been asked to pay twice for hardware which is repaired yet defective. I am forced to pay Dish tv for something which is only available with the company and of cheap quality and at the same time highly priced too.
It is worth mentioning that if I purchase a new connection, I would be charged approx Rs.1100/- and in return I would get brand new hardware(set top box, antenna, remote and wire) with one year warranty and one month subscription free. The offer also includes free gifts like pen drive. It seems that they are only selling defective hardware to acquire new customers and once the warranty period expires they start minting money in the name of repairs. Beware of these facts as it will only add up costs instead of good quality HD feed.
Moreover, request to refund the advance payment against subscription was also denied by the executive as I had already paid in advance for my subscription and still one month of usage is left to be consumed. And I am unable to use the remaining period of services in the absence of proper hardware.
It is a clear case of cheating but since the organisation is faceless and all we know are few numbers and email ids nothing much can be done. Hence I am making it public so that it may be helpful for others.
