It is surprising to see that so many people are using Dish TV, because I have not seen a single Dish TV customer among my friends and relatives.


I have been suffering with Dish TV and its highly unprofessional staff for 6 long years. Being Indians we are used to the 'Chalta hai' attitude but Dish TV takes it to newer heights. I opted for this scheme where you pay for 4 yrs(Rs.12000) and get 1 year free. Whichever pack is recharged will stay for the duration/my request. Seemed good enough.


So got this scheme in 2012. Next recharge date should ideally be 2017. what ingenious strategy Dish TV has applied is that every month they make a set of channels as Ala Carte pack, which is paid of course, and block it. when I reactivate it(that is after innumerable attempts to connect with "Customer Care" and hours of holding the line, not to forget the irritating song that runns and our call is "important") they tell me that the channel is paid eg 5/10/15 bucks. When I activate it they deduct the balance and now my recharge date is 2015. they have reduced the "free" year and also digested one more year for which I had paid. Now after a lot of frustration venting on the innocent call centre agent, I requested for the Customer History where my recharge dates and channel requests are recorded(i hope thay have something of this sort).


There is no response form anyone in the whole organization. I even offered to settle the issue amicably by surrendering the connection, closing the account and refunding the amount left. this was out rightly rejected by the call agent and his supervisor. Secondly the EPG(programme Guide) does not display info for all the channels unless you put on that channel. I have never seen any sort of guide for DD/zSmile/Bindaas/9X/Lok Sabha TV/Rajya Sabha TV.  When asked, the reply is that for Free Channels there is no programme guide. if this is what you tell to a direct customer, who is paying for this info, this reply tells so much about the organizational attitude. It seems that no body is bothered to even fulfill the bare minimum expectations. then also is seems that the company was just started to convert Black Money to white. Feel sorry for myself and anyone who is stuck with this fraudulent and malpractice DTH Service Provider.


I also plan to complaint about this(once I get the customer history) on the consumer forum for marketing malpractice. we can also connect and file the complaint collectively, which might put more pressure on Dish TV to at least raise their service level. The glitch is only that anyone who works for a living will only get the time to watch the tv and crib about Dish tv is carrying on with. to get us all together and take this up to the forum and rip dish will require a lot of time and effort
