DISHTV is worst and BLOODY CHEATERS!!!!. Review on Dish TV

Hi All,

Anyone planning to purchase new DISHTV connection beware. If you compare DISHTV plans with Tata Sky, then definitely one would like to go with DISHTV. I had been DISHTV customer for more than 2yrs and its been real torture. Initially it all started with re-installation process. I was shifting to another place in Bangalore City itself so I called up customer care to ask someone to re-install it. When I asked them about the re-installation fee, they put me on hold and after waiting for 5 mins, they responded back by saying that it will cost around Rs. 170 including taxes. I agreed and asked them to send their person to my new address.But next day nobody came and I called up customer care again and they  said since it was sunday, installation will be done only on monday. Monday afternoon, two executives came and installed the connection.  They charged me Rs. 250. When I refused to pay them so much, they called up their office and a lady spoke to me on phone told me that I need to pay Rs. 250 since it is the standard fee charged by DISHTV. Then I called up customer care and asked them the same and told them that I was told to pay Rs. 170 whereas the bill shows Rs. 250. They again put me on hold then again after 10mins they responded back and said there was mis-communication and I have to pay Rs. 225. When I asked them why did they told me to pay Rs. 170 then they came up with lame excuse saying that Rs. 170 is for uninstallation. Then when I asked them again why the bill is for Rs. 250, they told me to pay Rs. 225 and not more. I paid Rs. 225. One thing I forgot to mention, I called up customer care twice before shifting and on both occasion they said it would be charged Rs. 170. But very next day, it turned out Rs.225. Really shameful act DISHTV.

Coming to 2nd Part of my experience, their signal quality is horrible. They say during heavy rain, we may experience signal problem. But even when there were clouds for few hours(without rain), I was not getting channels. Again ridiculous service.

Now the final nail in coffin.I recharged my DISHTV on 17th June, 2011 for six months(PLATINUM PACK). But from 31st Aug, 2011, my plan was changed and some channels were removed. Especially channels like ESPN, STAR SPORTS AND STAR CRICKET. And it was replaced with NEO SPORTS, NEO CRICKET AND TEN CRICKET.  When I called the customer care, they said they have upgraded my pack to PLATINUM PLUS. And when I said I want my channels back, they asked me to pay Rs. 40 per month for ESPN, STAR SPORTS AND STAR CRICKET.  I told them I want my channels back. They said they can't. I told them when I recharged my plan, ESPN, STAR SPORTS AND STAR CRICKET were part of my package. But they changed it without my knowledge. I spoke their Team Leader SABAR, and he said I will get my channels back within 15mins. But even after waiting for more than 1hrs. I did not get my channels back. So I called them again and this time spoke with another Team Leader and he bluntly said that I wont get my channels back and I have to shell out Rs. 40 per month. When I told them if DISHTV is changing any plans, this should be effective from my next recharge maybe to the person who are purchasing new connection but definitely not to an existing customer because they purchased the old plan, not the new plan. But they were hell bent on selling me Rs.40 pack instead of getting my channels back to me. This was highly professional and cheat.

When I wrote them email regarding this experience to DISHTV, again I got same reply. Instead of taking my complaint and my experience with different team leaders, they again bluntly told me but Rs. 40 pack.

Now I have made up my mind to stop using DISHTV when my connection get lapsed on 16th Dec, 2011.

More ever, we have TATA SKY connection at my native Kolkata. But even when our recharge gets lapsed, we get free channels like DD, Kids channels, etc etc. But with DISHTV, if you recharge get lapsed, all the channels are stopped and also you have to shell out Rs.10 per day as late recharge penalty. For example if your connection is till 2nd Aug, and if you think of recharging it on 3rd Aug, you have to shell out extra Rs. 10 else this Rs. 10 is taken out of your recharge amount and you may get 1 or 2 day less of DISHTV Tenure. And if you recharge it on 4th Aug, another Rs. 10.

DISHTV is bloody cheaters and highly unprofessional. Please avoid DISHTV.
