I had taken Dish TV a year ago and during the purchase had confirmed very clearly that if I donnot want the pay channels in the future will I still get the free 33 channels. The response was yes. But surprisingly after a year my troubles started. I wanted to continue with a package which was 75Rs, but when I called the cal center I was informed that the package is discontinued and I will have to pay a min charges of Rs275/- month. This was expensive than my local cable guy who had been giving a far better selection of channels and also would respond to me imd.
SO I decided not to renew the package and continue only with the free channels, I informed them I am not interested to continue with pay channels. But again in Apr 07 I receive a call from their Delhi office stating that I owe them 225Rs towards my outstanding for the 3 months. When questioned as to why the reply I get is "you have been migrated to the 75 Rs package". Now how did they migrate me to a package which did not exist in the first place.
Also I am being told that now if I dont pay the 225/- and Rs 100 every month even my free channels will be canceled. This is nothing but a rip off. Please get carried away by the adv, get everything in writing as Dish TV will get back to you denying any commitments given by them. I am planning to file a legal case against them. If anyone else has a similar experience pls let me know.
