Dilwale - superflop movie. Review on Dilwale (2015)

#DILWALE – Each time one watches a Rohit Shetty movie the IQ goes down by a notch. This one ensures that it goes down by 5 notches, yeah that means some of us are running into negative. Let’s begin with the starcast – SRK is hot, Kajol svelte but these people who claim to be fabulous actors deliver no dialogue and give no expression that they haven’t done before, so in a way they are effortless.

The chemistry is like that of buddies – you wait when they will slap each other on the shoulders and ask ‘aur kya chal raha hai yaar’. Good they don’t kiss as that would have sure looked weird. Rohit Shetty attempting romance, is like Ramsay Brothers attempting a biopic. Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon are just about good. But the people who save the movie are Boman Irani, Johny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari and Varun Sharma. So you go out to buy a 3rd tub of popcorn/cola combo in the intermission, contemplating should you leave but decide to come back and whoa imagine these people being the one’s because of whom you stick around! It’s a very democratic movie, SRK does not hog the limelight unlike a Saif.

Spoiler Alert – the movie is totally inspired by Hum and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Akshay Kumar’s work through the decades. SRK and Kajol are the progeny of dons ( Kabir Bedi and Vinod Khanna wasted) , who fall in love, fall apart due to some misunderstanding and whose siblings Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon bring them together again.  The song Gerua is awesomely shot in Iceland and rest of the set is virtually Goa in Golmaal 3.  Action is Shetty style, few exotic cars broken, SRK beating the pulp out of goons with not even a scratch on the knuckles etc. Bajirao Mastani will look like an Oscar worthy work after this, which I watch today courtesy booking traumas at BMS and PVR websites. This is holiday season, less work at work, kids home, cousins around, couldn’t manage Goa or Auli or a white Christmas in London, so go watch this with a minimum group size of 6.
