Dil Chahta Hai ki I watch the movie over and over again and again cause this is a kind of movie which are not made these days and should be made alwayz, according to me this movie is a trendsetter which will change the way movie are made in Bollywood. It really has that kind of touch, young, cool and thoroughly entertaining. it has performances which are leagues ahead by what we generally see these days....These are casual effortless stuff by some class performers
Dil Chahta Hai explores the ups and down of youthful relationships and how life goes on and is handled with such maturity and control that it is difficult to believe that the film has been written and directed by a first-timer
It has a new look and a different feel altogether which everybody will love and cherish.
Now to get to the point which everybody is waiting for and that is the story of the movie...it starts in Mumbai on a day when everybody is celebrating Graduation day
Akash(Aamir Khan), Sameer(Saif Ali Khan) and Siddharth(Akshaye Khanna) are three best friends who know each other very well and love being together.
Akash is an incorrigible flirt with heaps of attitude, Sameer is a cute bubbly confused lover who keep falling in love and Siddharth is the quiet sort of matured guy who tries to express his feelings through his paintings as through his words of wisdom.
Siddharth develops a special friendship with an older woman, played by Dimple Kapadia who is a interior designer Sameer finds his soul-mate in Pooja (Sonali Kulkarni) and Akash, a guy who shys away from commitments, but finally falls in love when he meets the Shalini (Preity Zinta), a girl who is already engaged to another man and he also gets punched in the face by her fiancee once while flirting with Preity.
The movie till intermission will have you all in splits, Aamir and Saif deliver a hilarious performance with Akshaye being the serious sort of guy....after intermission it becomes a little serious and tragical and clearly Aamir and Akshaye excels in such serious stuff.
Scenes which made me laugh and cry and will make you to......watch out for...
The Graduation day party in which Aamir proposes to Preity and get punched by her fiancee, he does it with such grace and attitude that you get shocked as to how a guy can behave in such a way
Once when all three get together in Goa and discuss about their future life and how Saif plays a prank on Aamir and get him entangled in a date which Aamir would love to avoid
The scene in which Saif gets robbed by a firangii babe in goa who he fall in love with and the way he reacts to it when he reaches mumbai and tells Aamir and Akshaye about it...this will have you in splits...surely
Watch out for the scene in which Aamir talks to his Dad after he learns that Preity is getting married and his dad advises him to come back home from Australia....this scene will make you cry and you feel and reach out for him and he does a fabulous job emoting this particular scene.....HE EXCELS....
Actually speaking I could go on and on and on about the scenes as the whole movie is filled with unforgettable moments...and WOW ALL PERFORMANCES
Farhan Akhtar as a directors excels in every reel of the movie and does a commendable job in extracting performances from his lead actors...way to go man....keep it up.
On the whole Dil Chahta clearly belongs to Aamir and Saif who just leave you gasping for more and more, Aamir has come a long way and according to me he once again delivers a flawless performance after his recent sucess Lagaan and can be termed as the GOD OF ALL THINGS. he expresses his emotions and all his expressions with such ease that you sit up and take notice,his flair for comedy and timing is excellent. Saif is cool and lovable and you surely will fall in love with him. Akshaye delivers a balanced performance with uttermost grace. Preity looks divine and excels in her scenes with Aamir, you will love her, she looks gorgeous...watch out for the scene in which she is stranded at a railway station in Australia and a beggar stares and approaches her......she just freaks out.....Aamir scares the guts out of her in that scene. Fabulously executed...Dimple and Sonalli are just about average and rest of the cast is aptly casted and delivers good performance.
Dil Chahta Hai is a class act all the way. Not to be missed.
