Being a punjabi one cant miss scenes of back home, courtsey-yashraj.

A light entertainer, I might call it a combo of previous yashraj delicacies in fusion with a continental dish named she's the man with added masalas like romance, sports and comedy also spiced taking care of N.R.I. taste buds, cooked in punjabi style and served on the platter of culture and traditions.

The film is the story of a village of Punjab located at the Wagah border that has its own cricket team and plays match with the local Pakistani team for the Aman cup and have been losing in a row from past many years. The team’s owner (Anupam Kher) turns to his son Rohan (Shahid Kapur) who plays county cricket in England to take over as coach and the captain to strengthen the team.

A village girl Veera (Rani Mukherjee) though works with a local theatre group in village, treasures an unusual dream of playing a cricket in the big league with the star cricketers. Here comes the twist in the story, Veera Kaur becomes Veer Pratap Singh sporting a turban and a beard. She doesn’t just switches character but also gender, posing as a boy to get entry into the cricket team. And thus it bears out the purpose of Veera living with a nautanki company called Jigri Yaar Dance Company, adept at costumes and disguises.

A twist comes in the tale, when Veer's desire to play cricket clashes with Veera's desire to be with Rohan. So, Veera convinces another girl (Sherlyn Chopra) to woo Rohan while Veer can concentrate on playing cricket.

The movie tries to capture the spirit of the game and the aspirations of a sportsperson, who's keen to play for her village.

However, the match between the Indian and Pakistani teams in the climax is well executed , with not to miss the final speech of rani.

Rani as always, delivers a sparkling performance as Veera as well as Veer, carrying both the roles effortlessly. Shahid plays second fiddle to Rani, which is very surprising. Nevertheless, he enacts his part well.

Anurag Singh shows sparks of brilliance, pritams music specially the title track are great, cinematography is nice. A movie sure not to be missed.
