Well, got to see it at last and what do I say? Total value for your hard earned money. If you are willing to overlook a few faults. But then which movie is without faults? And Bond movies are no exception to the rule.40 years ago this spy was there to rule our senses and still has not relinquished his grip.

As usual the story is wafer thin. But this time there is a concerted effort to be a tad bit different. In this movie Bond does not brook any nonsense from anyone and is devoid of his usual sense of humor too.As it happens, the flick begins in the de-militarised zone of North Korea where a general is about to meet Bond for a shady deal in diamonds and his identity is blown. So, Bond is arrested and put behind bars and tortured for 14 months in prison and is given up for dead by his own people also.

And to save the best for the last, this is Pierce Brosnan's show from the first frame to the last. After Mr Connery, this guy is undoubtedly the best Bond yet.I wish to see him forever, but then the Gods are not kind enough to anyone. He has that charisma to pull it through. After a long time at the movies I have had a good time.A perfect ending to 2002.

Quite a nasty turn of events for Mr Bond who usually is always quick to the take and the humane side of him is exposed to the viewer. He is exchanged for another prisoner and comes back to London where he is deemed of no use by his own boss M.She too washes her hands off him because he has been branded a traitor. So Bond does what naturally comes to him.He goes off in search of the traitor in his own ranks who has betrayed him.And hereby starts an armchair guide to all the good spots of the world namely, Hong Kong,Cuba,London,Iceland and back to good old North Korea where it all started. The story features some gene therapy too.

Now to all the main features of the flick in question. The locations,as usual, are hand picked and shot with loving care. The gadgets are very few and they include the mandatory laser beam from the watch and the Aston Martin. The viewer is not let down as far as the car is concerned. It is full of gizmos and too good for words. The villian's hideout in Iceland is made totally of ice and looks pretty grand and beautiful. The villain Gustav Graves does a good job but is not a patch on older villains like Hugo Drax or Goldfinger or Scaramanga. The right hand man of the villian is a guy called Zao who makes a pretty sight what with his face embedded with diamonds courtesy Bond!!!!

The Bond ladies are as usual a treat for the eyes. And Halle Berry as Jinx is too good. And she has a gala time delivering all the one liners too.And her chemistry with Brosnan is really good.I hope they reprise her role as Jinx in the forthcoming Bond movie. The other lady called Miranda Frost is very good looking and does her role justice. All the other regular star cast is always there and they do their jobs well.

The stunts and the photography deserve a special mention. They are really upto the mark this time and surpass all expectations.Especially the car chase scene on ice between Bond and Zao is exceptional. And the piece de resistance is the fencing scene between Gustav Graves and Bond. That really brought me to the edge of my seat.

All in all a real value for ur money. The opening scene itself tells you that this is gonna be one rollercoaster ride.I did not find anything disappointing in this movie, except for one stunt which has Bond surfing on high seas with the help of an iron plate!!! But then he is Bond,James Bond!!! He is the master of chutzpah!!! He can do anything. So,go see it and do not have any mega expectations and thou shall not be disappointed.
