Casual Review of a Young Girl. Review on Diary of a Young Girl, The - Anne Frank

It took me three days to complete this book and after these three days I knew Anne Frank as a normal school going teenage girl. Yet Anne was extraordinary as she never lost hope and was courageous as she lived in hiding for two long years in the fear of the Nazis. Disconnected from the outside world Anne and her family lived for two years. Fresh air, peace, friends, school, comfort and a normal life was what Anne yearned for.

Even during the hard times Anne never forgot her core principles. Despite eight people who were to be fed and the scarcity of food due to the war she and her family were always munificent enough to allow other members to help themselves with the best part of the food.

Anne also longed for a person in who she could confide in therefore she started to write a diary which she named Kitty. This diary was gifted to her on her birthday and it was one of the most significant things for her. When she had to pack her belongings to go into hiding she firstly took her diary. She did not take much clothes because to her memories were more important than clothes.

I traveled a journey that included patience, pain, suffering while reading this book. It made me realize how people must have suffered during the world war and how cruel and inhuman a person can be towards others. Diary of a young girl not only taught me a lot of things but also inspired me to keep one too.
