Another sequel, another hit..... Bollywood is making heavens outta these sequels....... First Lage Raho Munnabhai, then Krrish and now Dhoom:2! All these movies are packaged very well for the audience who doesnt want to be stretched too much in terms of thinking (with the exception of Munnabhai). Ok, let me come to Dhoom:2 and what makes it click and what makes one feel it could have been better!
The story of the movie starts from where Dhoom left (its a sequel!). Jai Dixit (Abhishek) and Ali (Uday Chopra) go on to their next case. Here comes Mr. A, full name Aryan (Hrithik Roshan) is an international thief and one of the most brilliant masterminds in carrying out a robbery. He then meets Sunehri during one of his robbery and she becomes his partner in the robbery. But Jai Dixit being the super cop has a twist to this tale... How he finds Mr. A and how he is nabbed in the end is the story.
On the Review, let me start by going from the weaker points to the strong points
Music: The weakest part of the film. Apart from Crazy Kiya Re, none of the other songs remain with you after the show ends. Below average job by Pritam who sizzled with the soundtrack of prequel of Dhoom:2. The BGM is fairly decent

Director: Sanjay Gadhvi does a fairly good job in making the movie look stylish and attractive. He has succeeded in entertaining the audience with most of his scenes in the movie. The action in the movie is spell bounding. But the director could have handled the ending better! The ending left me wanting something better! Otherwise, Sanjay Gadhvi has once again succeeded in giving us a wholesome entertainer

Bipasha Basu & Uday Chopra: Both do their jobs well. Uday is especially funny with his dialogues and invokes laughter. He has a good timing for comedy and he does a good job. Bipasha looks beautiful in the first part and too hot in the second part, making us want more of her in those bikinis.

Abhishek Bachchan: Just surprised to see Abhishek let the other actor take centrestage and dominate the film. Dhoom was his movie, but Dhoom:2 is mostly Hrithik's film. Yet yet, Abhishek holds his own in many scenes and does a very good job. His chemistry with Uday Chopra is excellent. When he tells Hrithik that his dad used to use the sikka (coin) to take decisions, it reminded us of Sholay (in that movie, Amitabh uses the coin with Dharmendra to have a toss to solve arguments). Abhy doesnt look too gud with that beard and I am happy he is coming with a shaven look in Guru. But Aby has done very well here.

Action & Cinematography: Takes a big chunk of the credit for the movie's going to be spectacular success. The action sequences are choreographed brilliantly. The action here is bigger than what Dhoom was. The camera is just astonishing. It just captures the beauty of Rio in a breathtaking fashion. Nirav Shah does a brilliant job with the camera.

Aishwarya Rai: To start off with, my history of Ash is that "I hate her". I have never found her acting interesting. Nor have I found her as beautiful to look at as the media and other fans of her make it out to be! Also, I totally dislike her projected real life personality and her frequent changing of boyfriends. But to be frank, she was SUPERB in Dhoom:2. Her introduction was different, and when she removes her veil to Hrithik in a closed place, people start feeling hot and were clamoring for the air conditioner in the theatre to be increased! She looked damn hot in this movie and overshadows Bipasha in that department. She gets a real good role to perform and she performs it with lot of style and glamour! Her chemistry with Hrithik is just FANTASTIC! She is better with Hrithik than with Abhishek whom she is rumored to be marrying in a few months!

Hrithik Roshan: Wow, what a man!!! Before watching this film, I was told a lot of praiseworthy words of Hrithik's performance. But I didnt expect what I saw!!!! He was just AMAZING in this film! Probably the movie which has projected him the BEST! His intro was just earth shattering, his mannerisms and style in the movie was too good, his different getups were a delight to watch, etc. I can keep going on and on about Hrithik. Hrithik has evolved a lot in the past year and is now selecting the perfect movies to push himself forward. If he goes on in this vein, he should be a SUPERSTAR by 2009. His chemistry with Ash is FANTASTIC!

Overall: The movie, esp. the ending could have been better! It wasnt convincing. But the director has largely succeeded in giving what he promised - ENTERTAINMENT. Should be one of the big hits of the year (Krrish still might win over this one). Yash Raj films continue their dream run. Whatever one criticises them, Yash Raj Films know what type of film to make and what type of film will earn them the money! They are the kings of commercial cinema, and I am sure there is no one yet born on earth who can equal their track record! I bet that!
