Dhoom 2. Review on Dhoom 2

I was not sure about watching dhoom 2; I have heard a lot of bad reviews for this movie. A lot of hype was generated around this movie so I did not take the risk of spending my hard earned money on a film I know I will not like. So I waited on DVD for this movie. The DVD finally came out and guess what I use to think “it can’t be that bad the movie” but guess what it was that BAD! Now hold on there dhoom fans I did not like the first movie but atleast it was 20 percent believable but this dhoom 2 was not even worth thinking about. It’s like a superman movie that could never ever happen.

One example Mr.A is caught by Uday Chopra and he goes down the drain and exits threw another drain from the road. All of a sudden he has different cloths in 10 seconds and has rollerblades. Also please do not start me talking about how roller balding can be faster then cars or a motor bike. Okay you might say please don’t take your thinking caps on for this movie, but you don’t need a thinking cap its right there in front of you, you don’t Evan have to think you can not help but laugh at this cheesy story. The story is a normal cops and robbers story its nothing new its old story in a new bottle with extra action and stunts that make it look more Hollywood and try to impress the likes of Spielberg but Evan Spielberg would laugh at this Hollywood rip off.

The Story

Mr. A (HR) a worldwide thief who has stolen very valuable things all across the world and wants to leave his mark on the map of the world with an “A” last place to go to make that mark is India. Jai Dixit (Abhishek) And Ali (Uday chopra) Who is now Jai partner and now a police officer are assigned to a new mission to track down Mr. A and any moves he makes and get him caught, The person who brings this case to the team is officer sho (Bipasha Basu). With many attempts they try to catch Mr. A but they failed. Jai decides to get help of Ashwariya rai (Sunehri).

To pretend to be a super theft as well and be Mr. A side kick. But really she is working for jai Dixit undercover; she is no cop but a normal person who would do this only to get her crime sheets clean as she will be set free if she does this job. Mr. A disagrees and does not trust anyone but Sunerhri beauty outsmarts Mr. A and he allows her to be his sidekick. They both then decide on there next plan to steal the worlds oldest coin. This time there location has changed, they now move from Bombay to Rio. Sunerhri Informs  Jai about this and so does the dhoom gang move to Rio to track them down.

Bipasha is injured so she does not come along with them infact she has a twin sister in Rio who Jai and Ali stay with. Ali like always falls in love with any girl he looks at, he this time falls in love with Bipasha twin sister. The chase begins in Rio for Mr.A and a love story emerges between Mr. A and Sunerhri which is quite the cheesiest thing I have seen. The ending is not impressive at all and its one big chase that leads to no where and makes the dumbest sense in the world. Watch it to see how bad the story is of the movie.

Performance

But lets not be to hasty here, Roshan Saab does have a good look and dances well in the film, his acting I am not too sure about he is all style and look and no acting. He saves the movie with his cool look and dancing skills. But I must admit some cloths did look very gay on him. Ash indeed was irritating with her “Very funny” line but oh my god did she look hot or what the song? “Crazy Kiya re” made my mouth open wide. She looked so hot in this song and the song “Dil laga” matching HR dance steps which where amazing and Ash looking hot as ever I would say watch the movie for eye candy and that’s it.

Dhoom Again was an okay song but Dil Laga will stick with you when you exit the cinema even that I saw it on DVD I am sure it will be the song your humming when you walk out. As For Bipasha she looked okay but her twin was very irritating and would not want to see her again. Uday Chopra was cheese, cheese and nothing but cheese what was up with the song “My Name Is Ali” each time the song went “Excuse me to please?” I just want to throw something at the TV even that there was a fast forward button I just wanted to watch and see how stupid it looked but also it has clips of Ash in the song as well and I did not want to miss that. Rimi is there for barely 20mins as she is a pregnant wife now she does okay as the jealous wife. Now to Abhishek he does very well in this movie I think he does the best I wish he only had more screen time he was suppose to be the main actor of the movie and he was dropped from being the main actor in dhoom to being the supporting actor in Dhoom 2. They have cheated him here in the film as he does do a great performance (Okay not great a good performance) they concentrated more on Hrithik.

Action/Stunts

The action is just laughable and I think I can say the gadgets are very unbelievable, how can a mini car just drive past like 5 guards as they guard a diamond. Not much bike action in this one because we have found something new YES roller blades! Yes apparently they think the audience is foolish enough to believe rollerblades goes as fast as cars and motor bikes. Please do stick with Motor bikes next time that’s what got the Dhoom series so famous is because of the bikes.

Overall

I give the movie a few good things, Ashwariya Rai looking hot Hr dancing and cool look as the smart thief, and Abhi somewhat good performance. Otherwise, half backed script and story with no excitement, Bad acting from the rest of the cast, predictable, boring and some good and some bad songs. Overall a bad movie but a two star rating might be fair? People say leave your thinking caps at home, okay I will leave my thinking cap at home but things are so stupid and unrealistic in the movie that forget about thinking caps...What you want me to do now leave my brain at Home? But if you like larger then life films and like all the cop films the same old things then maybe you will like this movie but otherwise Boy: Go watch it for Ash and Girls: Go watch it For HR, Maybe they should all pack the dhoom series and stop here because its really time to stop and oh my god if they make another Dhoom just like the following two then I can then say Dhoom series is totally
