Another sequel , a very higly hyped one too but its the DISSAPOINTMENT of the year. Dhoom-2 comes as the sequel to the highly sucessful DHOOM. And this is where it fails. The story isnt imaginative or new - a theif commits robberies leaving his signature behind , which gets our super cop behind him. Its a wafer thin plot with a few different characters than the earlier movie. I will not get into the story part. Lets concentrate on the other parts of the movie. The movie belongs to Hrithik Roshan , period. There will be no other memory with you when you walk out of the hall. Doing stunts , acting , changing getups , romancing - this guy does it all and does it with style and panache. Uday Chopra continues with his silly Ali act , feels irritating at the start but then he is the only other tolerable actor in the movie. Abhishek Bachhan is a complete misfit. He doesnt look tough and I found him lagging well behind the other actors in the movie. Bipasha Basu is glorified extra in the movie. Her role and character is not developed - this could be the first time in Hindi Cinema that a person has a double role and both roles are wasted. Aishwarya Rai - After all the hype of her slimming down , toning down , doing her own stunts - its a dissapointment again. She plays a modern day basanti and fails , her make up is also on a roller coaster ride going from gorgeous to bad. Sanjay Gadvi goofs up big time. He hasnt developed the story nor the characters.Concentrating only on stunts to make a movie run is a bad idea and it shows here. Hrithiks couple of stunts are good but watch the entry of Uday Chopra and the other bike chase at the end of the movie are same as they were in Dhoom - tacky. I say tacky because I expected a better improvement in stunts as 2 years have passed since the last movie but alas. The music is a no-go at all. The title track rocks though. The picturisation doesnt help the songs though. All in all a dissapointment after the hype. Tacky stunts , badly developed characters , loose direction , wafer thin story , bad music this movie has it all. You could give it a miss but if you want to watch it - go and see it for HRITHIK. The guy rocks. I would prefer watching Daniel Criag doing the Bond though.
