In Kollywood Producers are still being regarded as someone who just pumps in the money for a movie. Though a Director is the one who crafts a movie, it is up to the producer to provide a director all that he needs from a successful cast to the crew. One such producer in Kollywood who has a Midas touch is A.M.Rathnam. He has so far given some sterling commercial hits to us like Indian, Khushi, Kadhalar Dhinam, Run and now Dhool.

Dhool is an 100% masala flick which is a joy ride from start to finish. Vikram plays the Arumugam aka Superman (Reema Sen calls him like that!). Jyothika and Vikram along with Jyothika's grandmother Paravai Muniyamma travel to Chennai to meet their M.L.A. Shiyaji Shinde who is also a minister. The reason for their travel is explained in a short and sweet way in the opening sequences in the village. After they arrive in Chennai, we are taken for a joy spin with the all new terrifying Villan gang and the sexy Reema Sen. There is nothing much to boast a storyline but the screenplay is icy cool. Vikram messes with the villan gang who happen to be the hit men for the M.L.A.

This starts a fiery one man vs. 50 man war in which Vikram succeeds with his muscle power and some help from a good hearted Police officer played by Manoj K.Jain. In the end we are treated to a happy ending. As for as the twists in the screenplay are concerned, it is better if you could watch it in a theatre near you cuz there are so many fantastic deft touches here and there. The supporting cast steal the show from the leading stars. All of them in the villan gang and Paravai Muniyamma have done their part.

Vikram is ably supported by Vivek and Mayilsamy. Vivek is now at his peak form and we hope that he continues with this form for some more movies. Reema Sen and Jyothika do what they do best. Reema exposes almost every inch of her torso while Jyothika is back to her playful best in some scenes as she was in Dumm Dumm Dumm with Madhavan. Hari and Giri from the famous T.V. Show Hari and Giri assembly make their presence felt in this movie.

Vikram has to be lauded for his performance. He excels in all the departments and may be he could well be ruling the future box office kingdom. Fights tuned by Rocky Rajesh are spell bound while the climax fight tuned by Super Suprayain is also good like the others which has been worked based on the lyrics and has been supported very well with Vidhyasagar's music and Paravai Muniyamma's voice for the song Madurai Veeranthanaey. Vidyasagar has made sure the audience are dancing for the songs and the cameraman Gopinath excels especially in the stunt sequences. Kalyan has choreographed all the songs and it is good. Sets are made to look almost real. All the technicians have been used excellently and the result is seen in the theatres where we can find many youngsters dancing and jumping around during the songs.

Oops! we have missed one big thing and that is the man who is responsible for the story, screenplay and director and he is Dharani. Like our silent miss here in this review, Dharani has proved again silently that his racy screenplay can ring in more money than others. Everything you need for a commercial flick is used in this movie by Dharani and he has repaid the faith the producer kept in him. All the best Dharani, UthHeaven wishes you more box office hits like Dhool and your debut Dhil!

APPLAUSE : Vikram, Music, Dance, Camera, Villans , Vivek and screenplay.

AHEM! : Some English Beats inspired from Aqua's Barbie Girl and Dr.Jones but that doesn't matter much!!

VERDICT : Dhoooooool! Must See Movie of the year 2003!!!
