This is Sudarshan from Bangalore. In the year 2001 My father got me a YAMAHA RX-100. Which was the best bike. After 3 years I had an Idea of buying another bike so one of my cousin suggested an Enfield. When I heard the name I said boss I am not interested in Enfield cuz of its Sound, Mileage, and Weight. But later I consoled myself and took an enfield which was a second hand 1992 model from chennai for Rs 10500/-. The Vehicle had nothing in it which was working. Somehow I caught a mechanic there and serviced it and got it to Bangalore. Here I did all the work on my bike. Got the bike according to my taste which had the STD look It took 8 months to get my vehicle back after painting and all the engine work. I Spent Rs 20000/- on it. I got a new bike for Rs 30500/-.
My Idea was to ride enfield for 1 week and RX for another week vice versa. But Believe me, I got my enfiend on January 2, 2004 all newly painted, chromed etc. Till now I haven't touched my RX 100. Cuz of the luxury the bike has. I've been to Chennai often in My Bike and had no problems in Highway. Its the Best bike a man can ask for. And seriously this bike is not meant for people who thinks about Mileage all the time. It has good Riding comfort, great stability on road. And the Thump sound is just mind blowing. If you are interested in Enfields and want to buy then my suggesstion would be a second hand one old bullets which are below 90's model. Cuz those vehicle really was heavy and worth having those rather than going for a new STD 350 which has Hero honda Spendour Tyres and catalytic silencer.
I am not saying that new one is not worth. But Guys OLD IS GOLD. More over I have a very good Mechanic for my Enfield who explains what is what with the bike and will guide you with your query.
