Its not a review about DHARAM VEER only, but the new channel NDTV Imagine by NDTV.As I did not find a suitable category for it, so I am writing under this heading.
There was lot of publicity rather huge publicity about this channel from months, they even had a huge launch programme also.They have spent huge amounts of money in its publicity and roped some of the usual names of Indian Tv industry and even films.
It started on 21st january, 7.00pm with viewers thinking what extra they have to give apart from usual serials and "reality" shows.
At 7.00pm, they gave AAJA NACHLE with Saroj Khan in which Saroj teaches girls how to dance and also asks viewers to do and learn dance with her.A usual viewer will not be able to catch up so many complicated steps, some simple steps can be learnt though, also a normal viewer will get a sure shot backache and bodyache after so much dancing!They started with a very controversial song'Choli ke peeche kya hai.", but anyone who had doubts would have certainly felt what an effort it needs to dance so well like Madhuri Dixit, doing leg movements, hand movements and giving expressions at same time is awesome job.
After that, they gave a reality show like JHOOM INDIA where Tv actors are asked to sing and Karan Johar and Simi Grewal are judges, it is more or less boring except the usual tantrums thrown by these TV'stars'.
One is DHARAM VEER, Its more or less kids show, where two young warriors Dharam and Veer have some story.It seems they have roped in the boy who acts in PRITHVIRAJ CHAUHAN on Star Plus.
I will now come on the better serials, first is RAMAYANA, We all know its story, but its so endearing that we keep on watching it again and again, this time dialogues are better, many new facts are kept forth and music is A+.The only thing which I didn't like is too much brightness and color of costumes and set.
Other serial is JASUBEN JAYANTILAL JOSHI KI JOINT FAMILY, first it looks like BAA BAHOO AND BABY, but its more hilarious.Some the characters are very funny.In one episode, i liked a dialogue very much.One of the kids who doesn't have a new dress for two consecutive years for a festive occasion, his mother says'tu apne pita ki tarah ek nayi muskaan pehan le".Its just amazing.
One of the last serials at 10.30pm is MAIN TERI PARCHAIN HOON, which shows a joint family with some of the characters being too good, and some characters are selfish and still how people adjust.Storyline is quite good and realistic with no Ekta Kapoor kind of stupidities or bad sound effects every now and then.
I think their serials are quite good and different, but overall they have used too much color and brightness in their overall presentation.
Some of the forthcoming shows are RADHA KI BETIYAN and one more dance show.
