If you are looking for a place that has hospitable waiters, wholesome servings of food, a reasonably priced menu and a laid back corner to while away a few hours, then Dhanraj is the place you could pick.
First Impression: I have been there thrice with my family, over the last 8 months and must hasten to add that in terms of decor it didn't impress me much the first time I walked in though it is neat with comfortable sofas and satin cover draped tables.
Food, service & ambience: My first impression was short-lived thanks to the friendliness and simplicity with which the staff waited on us, the taste of the food, the generous portions of helpings and the reasonable pricing.
The music faintly flowed in the background - the old Hindi melodies(mostly instrumental) which I personally feel could do with some variation.
Brownie points: Coming back to my story of turning a convert.well, not only did they manage to soften me into turning a loyalist with their food and service, but have also been making sure things remain that way. With each subsequent visit, they have served us some or the other complimentary dish which turned out to be a savory treat indeed.

Dhanraj may not be the most talked about'hip and happening' restaurant per say, but it is sure to be a draw for those who still appreciate the old world charm and care for good food and service.
