Story:

Its New Years eve, the dawn to the new millennium… Jeffery Deaver presents another masterpiece with this devil of a thriller titled ‘The Devil’s Teardrop. PLOT December 31st 1999, a shootout in one of the metro stations in Washington D.C. and a ransom note delivered to the mayor’s office amounting $20m wreaks all havoc of what was supposed to be a fine day and millennium celebrations to look forward to. The killer’s accomplice dies in an accident on the way to collect the ransom. What next? The killer is supposed to kill people every four hours till midnight regardless of whether he receives instructions from his master or not. Evidence? The only ransom note sent to the mayor. FBI is clueless and all roads come to a dead end after the examination of the mastermind’s body. Hope? The only retired FBI agent Parker Kincaid who is a forensic document examiner who should use all his skills to help them find the ruthless killer before the clock strikes 12!! REVIEW Sounds interesting?? Well, it not only sounds but is a real thriller for those who relish on ticking bomb kindda suspense. Jeffery Deaver’s meticulous writing in the field of forensics and intensive research form the foundation of the book on which the story is built. The whole book revolves upon detailed analysis by Kincaid and has some devilish twists and turns throughout. Only once in a while comes a book that has you super-glued to your seats and eyes bolt-locked on the pages. Jeffery Deaver scores in the places where you feel that you have figured out the plot and SCREEECH! That’s where Deaver’s ride to hell takes a turn so sharp that is bound to give you a jolt through your spine. Though there are many characters involved (which all crime thrillers do) not once you feel that there is an overtly description of an individual with his past life blah blah blah. Deaver keeps his introductions short and slick. Overall a fantastic book that’s worth every penny and deserves to be in your hall-of-fame bookshelf!
