Hey guys...its meeeeee....i,m back once again....sorry I know u might have missed me for a long time but then I had to keep my grey cells working, was giving them a workout recently ...well..this time I m gonna give u some facts n figures of my experience in watching this movie ''DEVDAS''

Its amazing ,fabulous...i remember this Shayari.....

''TUMHARE DIL KA MERE DIL SE NAHI HAI KOI RISHTAA,

FIR TUMHARA DIL MERE SEENE MAIN DHADAKTA KYO HAI.

DARD TO TUMNE MEETHA HI DIYA HAI IS DIL KO,

FIR KHARA PAANI AANKHON SE TAPAKTA KYO HAI''.

WELL this film is basically based on a novel by the famous bengali writer Sarat Chandra Chottopadhya (I guess the name is right), this movie unfolds before us the love stoty of two neighbourhood lovers... Devdas (Sharukh Khan) and Parvati alias - Paro(Aishwarya Rai),who love each other deeply since child hood.

The story goes as this..........

Devdas is a son of a wealthy Zamindar who has all this crazy parampara of family reet rivaj...while Parvati is the daughter of a ok type of family...both are childhood mates and this childhood friendship becomes intense love relationship between the two....so the DAD sends his son to london for further studies and the link is broken between the two lovers...only comunication is VIA mail...(NOT EMAIL but LETTERS)..

devdas comes back finishing his studies....and here again starts the story of love romance passion once again between the two..I would like to mention a piont which I was very much touched is that the passion ,fire of true love is that paro kept a count of every day that passed since dev left for london, she used to light the deepak(LAMP)for this whole ten years...she infact kept the count of every years,months,weeks,days,hours,minutes......that passed by in waiting for Devdas..(tumhare pyar main maine ek ek pal ka hisab rakha hai)..wow what a romantic and passionate moment was that...

I remember another shayari here....

CHALE BHI AAO JANAM KI AB HUM TUMSE PYAR KARTE HAI,

YEH WOH GUNHA HAI JO HUM HAR BAAR KARTE HAI,

JALA DIYE MOHABBATON MAIN HASRATON KE CHIRAG,

BAS SADA TERE AANE KA INTEZAR KARTE HAI.........

BUT then bad luck strikes to them and devdas parents decline the offer and so devdas leaves the house....

Paro is forced to marry another thakur from the near by village...but the FIRST LOVE can never be forgotten...still she loves devdas as immensly and passionately as before...

dejected and heartbroken Devdas goes to his friend Chunnilal(Jackie Shroff) I love the way he says ''KE BONDHU'' (In bengali Bondhu means Brother,Friend....)Chunnilal take Devdas to Chandramukhi’s (Madhuri Dixit) place. Chandramukhi is a famous courtesean of the time at whose place Devdas seeks some peace. She plays an absolutely unbelievable role. A courtesan, who had the world falling at her feet, Chandramukhi gets attracted to Devdas’ personality and falls in love with him. But Devdas, who becomes a teetotaller in Paros gham and thus hates Chandramukhi for her profession and leaves the place. Chandramukhi prays Chunnilal to get Devdas one more time at her place. Chunnilal is a friend in need and deed to Devdas. The only retreat when the rest of the world closes their doors on him.

Devdas starts liking Chandramukhi’s music and dance and her company and gets himself drowned by liquor. It starts to take its toll on himand it then reaches its peek and falls seriously ill.The doctor says that another drop is going to be fatal for him.Chandramukhi takes care of Dev.But still dev cannot forget paro and wishes to meet her.....so catches the train..Chunnilal stumbles incidentally into the compartment in which Dev is in. Chunni unaware of Dev’s disease offers her some drink which dev refuses to take at first and Chunni asks him to drink for the sake of friendship. But soon he has the liquor then his condition starts worsening up..and ultimately he breathes his last breath on the doorsteps of PARO..which Devdas had promissed her..That MERA AAKHRI DAM MAIN TUMHARI CHOUKHAT PAR HI CHODUNGA..I WILL BREATHE MY LAST BREATH BY UR IN UR ARENA.....

THE END.

Great choreography, music, dress, lighting, photography it has for you.Songs are mind blowing and are in perfect rhythm to complement the mood of the movie. Ismail Durbar gets full MARKS for the music score. One of the songs has been composed by Pandit Birju Maharaj who also choreographed the dance sequences for Madhuri. Both AISHWARYA and MADHURI get FULL MARKS for their dances.Songs are mind blowing and are in perfect rhythm to complement the mood of the movie. They do nothing less than provide a treat to the eye.Costumes are BEAUTIFUL AND MINDBLOWING. A wonderful blend of colours, patterns and designs giving the protagonists an out of the world attire. Designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla mark their debut as film costume designers with Devdas.

Most of Madhuri’s outfits cost as much as 15 lakhs (each!) and one of the ghagras is said to have weighed 30kgs (which made dancing with it virtually impossible for her!). The typical Bengali style of sarees, ornaments, hairstyles and makeup are well portrayed. WOW U CAN STILL PORTRAY IT IN FRONT OF UR EYES......

WATCH THIS MOVIE FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS :-

1.Two two gorgeous women on screen ASH & MADHURI

2.Beautiful and Mind boggling sets that definitely need

appreciation

3.The dance sequenses and steps that are applaudable

4.Lovely songs that enchant and take you back in time

5.Shah rukh delivers his best as usual.

6.Aishwarya and madhuri Have performed brilliantly

7.Dialogues, lyrics hold great significance in the story.

Songs are mind blowing and are in perfect rhythm to complement the mood of the movie.

The sets are well put up with an ancient and antique look. It was as if they are the reality of the past time and captured the scene. The chessboard floors, huge stairs, haveli, lightings, chandeliers with candles lit, lanterns, pots, curtains, doors everything is picked from the past.

Chandramukhi’s haveli (brothel) is said to have been built on the bank of a river, Mirrored walls, coloured glass walls, thousands of candles in a room, fountains, ponds, furniture, crockery, are all well set & laid to match the story and the situation.( Double 5 Stars)

Direction: Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Producer: Bharat Shah

Music Director: Ismail Darbar

Cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai, Jackie shroff,Vijendra Ghatke, Smita Jayakar, Kiron Kher Tiku Talsania.
