DEV - A REV. Review on Dev

Dev was released on 11th June, Friday. Sunday, I was sitting n reading the newspaper. As usual went thru the weekly review sections on films and saw a four * with dev. Read the complete review given in TOI n decided to see the movie.

Same day, 11.30 ? just browsing the channels on my Television n came across scenes of Dev, initially thought of some trailer on some channel. Then waited for a sec n it was the movie starting on the local cable channel. My mind said?no u r going to watch this movie in the hall but somehow the initial scenes of the movie gripped n I could not resist.

Performances by AB, Ompuri, Fardeen, Kareena are all good. As a concept, the movie tries to bring out the flaws prevalent in the present system. A slight variation from the real terror that happened but story flows in the same direction afterwards. Though at some points movie looked like having some loose connections in the scenes but as a whole the story was well connected.

Riots are bad/Killings are bad n accused should be seen beyond the cast/creed/religion n justice should be given to the innocent ? Theme of the movie. Scenes directly relating to what we read in the newspapers after the riots. Policemen getting emotive/Politician getting involved/Religious sentiments being exploited n what not??

Amitabh as Dev looked wonderful but for those who saw him in Khakee may find a bit less than that?. Ompuri was good. Fardeen n Kareena too played their part well. Characters well planned.
