Govind Nihalani's latest work ''DEV'' is focused on the soul-searching question 'how does it feel to be an Indian Muslim?'. Very well put in place by the debutant writer and played by the young lad an LLB graduate played by Fardeen. Whose energy and youth can be misguided very easily, as done by the politician.
He has brought forward two ideologies in a very strong way. One of Tej who believes that ''They?re all terrorists'' and lives by his communal credo to the end and of Dev, the film?s lynchpin who is governed by his inner voice.
Dev?s realization of the enormity of the politics in the name of minorityism in India is aptly projected vis a vis harsh communalisation of Tej.
Nice picturisation of how unlike poles come together and share their thoughts over evening drinks but still stick to their traits till the end.
Amitabh as usual and Ompuri have given an excellent performance.
