Dev d yes the new take on devdas by unpredictable anurag kashyap(though I didnt like no smoking) but even though dev d is a movie to watch out for, amit trivedi is music composer of this venture after a superb "aamir" so lot to expect from it.
The album begins with a superb song"aankh micholi" brilliantly sung by amit trivedi himself the whole feel of the song is superb a brilliant take off by the album, Then comes to back to back dev chanda theme 1&2 giving a nice soothing feeling will do good for the film as background music , or may be this is the opening credit or end credit music but nothing matter as it is very good.
"kshitij&shilpa rao are the duo when they come toghther its always magic remember"tose naina lage"from the movie anwar so "dhol yaara dhol"is adjactly the same magic a superb song.
"dil main jagi" starts with nice piano tunes and then comes the husky voice of mani a surprise element , singing is different and whole feel of the song is just superb what to say just mind blowing.
"duniya" yes amit tridevi again behind the mice and it works again a superb song the promo of this song is also out so it makes you more curious.
"ek hulchal si" is the next one on the line sung by joy barua is a good one song not as brilliant as the previous ones but not bad by any means .
NOW MAKE WAY FOR THE SONG OF THE SEASON yes I am talking of "EMOTIONAL ATYACHAR" just sit back and enjoy the brilliance all the way there is something unique in the song it catchs you offguard and not to forget the lyrics and the way it is sang by bony chakravarti"bol bol why did you ditch me whore" you cant escape this one for sure.
Then comes the rock version of "atyachar" superbly arranged number with new lyrics and is equally effective if not more a treet to hear if you are fan of rock music.
"hiknaal" is sung by lab janjua is the first ineffective song of the album (may be b'coz I am not keen of punjaabi feel) but somehow it didnt work for me.
"maahi ve(sad version) is a short song and will have its impact on the screen
"maahi manu is next good song by labh janjua it has also punjaabi feel but somehow its more likeable then previous one . I love the singing of this song the whole feel of the song is very good.
"nayan tarse" is a classic in every which way amit tridevi is again showed the how good he is behind the mice , the mixture of classical with modern feel and with rock feel a superb song.
The "mar jaava"singer shruti pathak is back with "paayaliya" the 1st love track of the album and it spreads magic .shruti's voice is sweet as honey she sound just so good and the whole song touches new dimension with the use of "sitar& tabla" giving it a classical touch just mindblowing.
So toshi is here again with "pardesi" and he doesnt disappoint at all some unsual lyrics supported well with different singing makes this one a good song indeed , not to forget the arrangement of the song. "ranjhana" is a short song by"kshitij & shilpa rao" will be used as background in various scenes too short for write anything more about it. "saali khushi" is a different song by all means be it its lyrics of singing or arrangement amit tridevi again does full justice to his composition has a dark feeling like the movie. "yahi meri zindgi"is the last song , aditi singh comes for the song .its a simple song nothing great but never the less you can give this a nice hear .
After listening to whole album I was thinking how many times I have come acrossed such a "hatke" album the whole feel of the album is just superb and in the long time I havnt heard such a different soundtrack hats off to amit tridevi for composing the song and to anurag kashyap to allow him to do so.
If you really want to hear something different then go for this one it will surprise you.by the way which bollywood movie had 16 different number in one album(i am excluding remixes otherwise it has 18 songs).looking forward to the movie
