A typical loser story of a loser. The beaten-to-death story of Devdas is rehashed in a contemporary avtaar, but truth be told, it is extremely unimaginative. Yes, the characters are all modern-day characters with "forward and loose" women but it is only in the technical department that the movie feels contemporary.
As an aside, the art direction of the movie is really good. Abhay Deol is disappointing to say the least, the guy simply has no charm. The endless sessions of alcohol and dope leave you numb, and soon your hands find their way to your forehead.
Replete with slang, abuses, sex, middle fingers, there is absolutely nobody you can watch this movie with, except your own battered conscience. Shoddy editing, the film just drags endlessly and then ends abruptly. The two actresses are not bad though in their portrayal. The soundtrack is pretty nice.
Honestly, I was better off not having watched it, and so would you be. Bs to the five-star ratings.Update: Yes, I agree it is not a full-blown review 'cos I didnt want to waste any more of my time on this movie. Just enough to warn you readers to steer clear of this movie and save your time, money and mind. Meanwhile I seeem to be getting a lil better, its been 24 hours + ;)
