Truly unconventional, Anurag kashyap has carved a niche for himself & his style of movie making... After a series of serious drama flicks(Black Friday & No Smoking) This was really a welcome change...Defining devdas in modern times....& the definition was quite shocking....

Imagine this being the starting scene of the movie...Dev is studying in London...Paro, Dev's childhood love is calling him as she cant control her sexual fantasies & emotions...Dev reluctantly asks Paro for her Nude photographs...After slight hesitation & confrontation paro finally takes a nude Photograph..

Goes to a downtown studio to take the prints..& sends Dev....Dev after having a look at the photograph..Exults in joy..calls Paro...says.."I'm Coming'...the movie starts...Wooof...."agar aaghaz aisa hai to andaz kaisa hoga'...

Terrific first half...perhaps 1st time I saw multiplex audience going berserk... Speaking of the performance by the cast...WOW....Abhay deol was at its natural best...Mahi Gill..what a discovery...A pure mixture of 'makke di roti & sarson ka saag'...& Kalki...apt..a unique identity that has a striking resemblance...got all the making of todays chandramukhi....especially her skills on multilingual telephonic sex & the way she carries her oomph...simply mind boggling...

Music was the best part of the movie...especially..'Emotional atyachar & pardesi' were simply superb...the Film has got numerous songs but all the songs add up to the story being taken ahead...Exceelent cinematography..the colors used...The Slides...Wall patterns..Savitha bhabhi on the backdrop...the hotel room...pub...The dancers used...felt like watching a Tarantino classic....

Anurag kashyap even managed to fit in controversial topics with ease & elan like the DPS MMS scandal or the BMW rundown case...trying to attach a social stigma & had a successful attempt in maligning this hypocrite society of ours....

The only negative aspect of this film was probably the 2nd half...i felt it was a bit nagging & Repetitive...Too much of drugs..Booze & vomiting...Perhaps at a time you felt sorry for Dev...but you also feel..he is the only one responsible for his downfall...A tight slap on the so called Male egoism & chauvinism... Go and watch the movie...as somebody rightly said...it would bring a radical change in the history of Indian cinema...
