I join the list of people who had a bad experience with this bank's  credit card. I received a call offering me a lifetime free gold card, as I was planning to take one anyway, I went in for theirs. The very next day of the call, the representative stood outside my office from morning to evening calling me up at frequent intervals to fill the form. I was a bit held up and could catch up with him only in the evening. I took the trouble of reading the form entirely and filling it up myself. Things went on well and as promised I got the credit card in 14days time. But to my dismay, it was a classic card with a limit of Rs.51000 against the promised gold card with limit of Rs.3 lakhs. Its been almost 15days with a host of calls to their phone banking officials but there seems to be no progress. I always get the reply that, "We are trying to retreive your application and we'l get back to you in 2 days". But this never happened. The dissonance has increased may folds and its taken me more time than it took to get the initial card.


To worsen it all, the mobile no. of the representative who filled up my application is disconnected.


I see no point in going in for a service, if it is so pathetic in the initial stage itself. I cannot imagine what kind of bad encounters I may have if there are any problems with my credit card bills later on.


I would recommend staying away from Deutsche bank!


UPDATE


I sent a mail to the Cards divison asking them to cancel my credit card. They mail me back saying that after 9 months they will CONSIDER upgrading my card to a Gold card and that since its a lifetime free card, they asked me to reconsider my decision to cancel the card.


The worst part is they don't try to rectify a service immediately.9 months is the time.and that too is not service recovery.They try to justify as though I had applied for a classic card only and that I am demanding a gold card now, whereas the fact is that I had applied for a Gold card and they mistakingly dispatched a classic card.


There are umpteen banks offering free gold cards.Why go in for this?


In this competitive banking environment, with such a service, can Deutsche survive? - I Doubt!


UPDATE


I managed to cancel my credit card after a lot of pleading requests from the bank's side over the phone.
