Maybe this review will come as a big suprise, a joke, something silly or stupid. I hate the education system of India.
Right from the school, students are made to memorise answers and vomit them down on the paper. Hours after the exam you ask them a question, they'll say, ''chal pakaa mat, exam ho gayi mein sab bhool gaya hoon. maar goli.'' Whats the use of such education? Whats the point in memorising answers. Students dont grasp the meaning of the textual matter and just memorise the answers from digests and other books.
Education should be more of practical stuff. In my school, during the science practical exam, I had practised all the experiments. But my shock knew no bounds when I learnt that we just had to write an experiment. You call that 'practical'?
In history, you are made to learn what he or she did, who died when and who as born where. Why cant there be historical trips? Why cant there be historical dramas?
I'm in SSC right now. We have to memorise the entire text book and vomit it down in three hours. Nothing difficult. But why felicitate the toppers? They havent done a great deed. Un logon nein to bas ratta mara, paper mein chap diya, aur duniya ke samne intelligent ka tag laga diya. The students should be made to prove his INNER intelligence in exams. Only those students who have excellent memory powers can top.
Weekly tests should be conducted. Theory work should be greatly reduced as its useless. Practical stuff must be conducted like educational trips.
Due to this, a student undergoes terrible pressure and stress from teachers and parents and ultimately woh dus-barah neend ki goli ya pankhein pe latak jakar aatma-hatya karta hai.
If that is called education, I'd prefer to remain aghutha chaap!
On the brighter side, government is working hard on increasing the literary percentage of India. Students of 14 yrs. ae are given free education. They are provided free text notes. One must appreciate the government for that, but as I mentioned, the way exam system is, its pointless...
