''Just the way it should be!'', thats the remark that came out of my mouth for the first few hours in Denmark. Its all so logical and organised (save for the zonal ticketing system), the people are so very relaxed and friendly, who would believe they are the descendents of the fearsome vikings. Picture perfect, postcard beauty, thats Denmark.
Wow, the creators of Lego and erotica must be very very interesting people, just because logic and porn are the fuel behind many creative geniuses, and creative they are. Common sense is subtly integrated to daily life. Life moves at a very relaxed pace. The public facilities are a great advertisement for high state taxes.
What do you need to play golf in Denmark(and perhaps much of Scandinavia)? Just dig some holes anywhere you wish. Lush green, picture perfect beauty is the name. On my Bus journey from Aalborg to Copenhagen, I had the journey of my life. The most exotic forms of windmills, beautiful horses grazing in great numbers, the famous danish cows....the countryside is a dream run. Then came the ferry which was almost a luxury liner. Then back to the roads along the sea, wow! I always dreamed of such a stretch, clean long roads seperated from the sea by the most beautiful patches of land. It was a dream indeed.
Then came the cities, the gothic architecture perhaps looks best in clusters. After seeing them, I just wished the few modern buildings in between to disappear away. The houses are invariably brightly coloured which in the lush green background and clear blue sky, forms an amazing spectacle.
Denmark, is an open and liberal society, that means a leisurely
stroll to the park or beach on a nice sunny day can throw a few unexpected surprises. Someone aptly pointed out that, drinking in public is seen as a sign of you enjoying your life. Nice point of view.
Cuisine is highly diverse, it would be probably unfair to say that the shwawarma and tacos are not as much danish as the sweet fried almonds. I had a field day, chinese, japanese, mexican, iranian, afgani, danish and yeah, Indian ...all in three days. The food alone made my holiday. Not to forget the great chocolates, cookies, winegums, milkdrinks.
Denmark was a treat to my eyes, and extremely relaxing for my senses(esp. after the chaos of mediterranean).
