The title of this review comes from the fact that you never know when your product might give some problem and you need to get in touch with the customer care. And if that doesnt do what they claim, you are in for trouble, BIG trouble, because you have already paid !  Dell despite, their tall claims, have no desire to provide any kind of support to their customers. I am not even making a comment on their knowledge or their product( offcourse its not working for me and that is why I had to contact the customer service).I bought Dell Inspiron 6400 around 3 mths back, the only reason being their claims about their warranty. And I am paying heavily for my decision


The whole experience  from the scratch was horrible. First their delivery was 10 days late. On making several enquiries, they told me that it has been already delivered! I mean how could they say it, when there is no one to take the delivery, then how could they make this claim. They have this funda of assigning some person to help you out till the delivery is made. In the whole fiasco, she was no where to be seen. It was I who somehow traced the phone number of the courier agency and traced my laptop. So much for their help. Dell didnt bother at all to trace my laptop. But mind you, I was continuously getting calls from all around the world to take my feedback, including this lady's manager. But no one helped me in actually tracing the laptop, though I told about this to everyone.


But this was not the end of my agony. System was delivered with a problem. Tech support and hardware support have been unable to solve the problem. Obviosly I requested for laptop replacement. From that day onwards, Dell has stopped responding to my mails, to the calls logged through their site and the worst, their customer support actually disconnects the call( I thought its the speciality of Air Deccan).


They are using this fact that they do not have any outlet in India where I could go and dump the laptop, to their benefit. Except for the mails and phone, I don't know whom to shout at to get my laptop fixed !!!


I also came to know that hardware support instead of accepting that they were unable to diagonose the problem, have reported at Dell that they were prevented from solving the problem!! How atrocious. I think Dell has outsourced their hardware support to some agency.


Moral of the story: My 50K is gone and I am living with a piece of junk. I would be glad if someone could share the contact details of some higher-up in Dell who would listen to the whole story and salvage the situation.Its high time that Dell woke up and took some action to redeem themselves..they are already losing ground in India and with this attitude, it wont be long before they get out of business in India.


Ah, the best thing - this laptop was bought through EPP ! I wonder how they treat their external customers.
