I bought a Dell Inspiron 1525 13 months back and the moment the 1 year warraty expired, the laptop started giving me problems. One fine day I get a message saying the battery has reached the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced.
I was getting a backup of hardly 30 minutes within 12 months. Further, I happened to damage one of the hinges of the lid. When I called up the service centre, I was told that they will replace the lid only if I extend the warranty. The famed service quality of Dell was dissapointing as far as i'm concerned.
I would advice people not to go for this model (Thats the minimum, I would say, can be done..... I would however, think twice now before going for any dell product) The laptop looked cheap when I bought it but i;m sure that a comparable laptop from HP or Sony woulld have saved me the troubles.
