This is the extremely slow shipment service. Review on Delhivery

I myself am going through a miserable experience with Delhivery right now.

The phone customer support executives hang up if you ask too many questions about the shipment being delayed.There are quite a lot of bad reviews about Delhivery, but they hardly seem to take any initiative to make them better.Indiatimes seem to be shipping their products strictly via Delhivery because Times Internet Limited holds a minority stake in Delhivery.Myntra.com is also sending the shipments via Delhivery, the most pathetic courier service I have ever seen.The staff is some illetrate group of people. Customer care never responds, and shipments take ages to deliver.

Myntra and snapdeal will loose potential customers due to this courier service.

Delhivery has been one of our courier partners alongwith FedEx and Aramex, since we started almost an year back, and I would like to give a perspective from business end. This is based on our personal experience on shipping eCommerce shipments through them.

First, I have to confess that I've seen the Delhivery service deteriorate over this period. It is like one of those things, you can clearly see and feel the company going downhill. We send a pickup request for several packages during the day and expect pickup of shipments to happen by the evening. Well, earlier, this used to happen without fail. Then some months down the line, we had to start following up, when the pickup guys didn't show up, we had to call for pickups to happen on the same day. A couple of months later, the situation deteriorated further, and any or all shipments scheduled through Delhivery were picked up the next day.

Now as anyone into ecommerce can tell you 24 hours is a huge delay, specially when there are COD shipments involved. It messes up entire order lifecycle and committed timelines involved go for a toss.

Second, comes the part after the shipments have been picked up. When we started off, the travel information for a shipment used to happen regularly(at least once a day). Some logistics companies do this multiple times, and I feel FedEx has been most consistent and best in this area. However, as time passed, situation with Delhivery deteriorated. If we send any shipments now, it is unlikely at all that shipment travel history is going to be updated regularly. There have been cases, where it hasn't happened for 3-4 days. Nightmare.

When you compare the low-cost model, it isn't "that" low cost when you compare it with FedEx, and the fact that you may lose a customer due to the confusion Delhivery causes due to its tracking and customer service. For a typical 500 gm Cash On Delivery shipment the total charge by Delhivery is around Rs.120 to Zone-4(from your state to a state/city at other end of the country). Fedex charge for the same shipment would be about 150.

Honestly, to say they are operating on a low cost model is no excuse for bad service. As a business, it has been Delhivery's concious decision to move to a low-cost model providing "outstanding" experience, as their website claims. And all the problems Delhivery faces today are related to basic stuff - updating tracking info, timely pickups and a customer service that functions. And it doesn't look like they are out of cash since they had a funding round of$50 million some months back. Unfortunately the service hasn't looked up even after that.
