Dtc getting better

Quality of Service:

I’ve been a regular bus user of public transport system from past 5-7years. I’ve always felt that DTC bus service is much better then private bus service. Private buses are over-crowed, smelly; they stop at any stop to get their buses filled etc, etc. Mostly DTC buses are not over-crowded unlike private buses.

They provide a bus pass facility not only to students but to people of all age groups. It’s easy to get the bus pass prepared which saves a lot of money and trouble for getting the daily tickets. And most importantly these buses don’t stop for hours at a particular stop to get their bus filled with 80-90 passengers hanging at each other. Out of which women, children, senior citizen are worst effected. I find that it’s safe to travel via DTC as govt. hires experienced drivers and they are mostly careful while driving.

I’ve practically traveled whole Delhi by bus; I’d like to bring this to my reader’s notice that DTC is much better then private bus service. Maybe it’s controlled by govt and it’s trying to be in competition with other bus services and the generation-x METRO. Whatever may be the reason one can safely travel by DTC. But in spite of having so many good points in its basket it’s certainly not free from certain flaws.

  1. Drivers and conductors are not friendly.

  2. Drivers don’t stop at all the bus stops.

  3. getting the remaining money back is always a concerning issue.

  4. They’ve a so called “setting” with every ticket checker.

  5. Lastly it’s not free from all the drawbacks which a public bus service. After getting a little experience of traveling by public buses I’d say DTC is not leading our Delhi’s name down. We’ve cases in which drivers have acted very responsible and working in the best interest of general public. To cite an example in 2005(diwali season) Bahari Mudrica bus driver saved many people’s life by responding quickly after knowing that there’s a bomb in the bus. I feel proud to say that this service is taking our Delhi’s name to same heights.
