Dce is one of the finest institutes of engineering in india.being an alumni of this college I can say that the students who come here are real smart.there is cutthroat competition to get in here.its the best engineering college in north india after iit.

its reputed for its mechanical engineering students of this department recently designed a f1 car prototype which one many competitions.apart from mechanical electronics and communication and civil have very good faculty.other major attraction is campus placement, every year many blue chip companies like hll,microsoft, infosys,hcl,tcs and wipro etc visit campus to hire fresh recruits.computer department though doesnt boast of high calibre teachers,but is more than made up by quality infrastructure and sheer competition amongst students which makes them excel and see them corner the best jobs from blue chip companies.for anyone preparing for dce I would suggest that take up electronics or mechanical if u really want to learn,however best campus placements go to comp.science and electronics students due to popularity of stream.polymer science department is having good post grad research.biotech labs are non existent and students go to du campus to do practical.also students of this college clear demanding entrances like cat and ias.
