There is a separate genre famous now-a-days, one can mention following movies to come in that pattern - Ek Chalis ki Last Local, Emotional Atyachar The Movie, Sankat City, Shor in the city. So is Delhi Belly. Now where lies the difference in the movie - obviously in the treatment. If you treat it differently and variably, you'll get laughs and you can please the crowd. Some time you do, sometimes you don't, and DB is one of those, and it's really hard to say NO to this movie, and I must admit that the house was full, and literally everybody was laughing at the movie's scenes, whereas I was just sitting dumbstruck, as I really felt bored in 1.5 hrs, and I didn't get much enjoyment out of the film, not because of it's filthy language or some raunchy scenes, but because the treatment was so different that it ripped the soul off the movie, and the entertainment reduces to few scenes, instead of full movie.

Movie tells a story of 3 Delhi-guys, a so-called journalist named Tashi (Imran Khan, JTYJN fame), and his 3rd grade Cameraman Nitin (Kunal Roy Kapoor, Zach galifianakis look-alike, remember HANGOVER), and their flatmate a cartoonist Arup (Vir Das, Badmaash Company fame). They're simply doing their work, but then enter a simple problem into their irregular life through Tashi's soon-to-be-wife Sonia (Shenaz Treasurywala). She was asked to deliever a simple packet to a simple Indian goon played by Vijay Raaz, but a wrong package was delievered after travelling through the hands of all 3 room-mates, that contains sh*t, and hence now everybody is behind them, plus there are some more here-and-there stories.

Now, the director (Abhinay Deo, or you may call him "Don't give it now" :P), who has a record of 1 flop (only directed 'Game' before this) did tried too hard to make a hit, and in that attempt he made it slow. I felt it like that, since I have watched other same timing movies, which are much faster than this one, even some slower one too which have more mazaa than this. I bored throughout 1.5 no-interval-supported hours. The songs are used as background score to support the movie and very much disappointed by 'Bhaag-Bhaag' moments, as I was expecting the movie to be a run-more kind of movie but only 2-3 places were like that where the all-time famous song "Bhaag DK Bose" song was used that too only in background, very disappointed on that aspect. Only 2 songs showed more - the best scene and song which was showed was "Jaa Chudail", it was awesomely placed, filmed and sung. It was sung wonderfully by Suraj Jagan. And in the end came Aamir Khan item number "I Hate you, (Like I Love you)" sung by Keerti Sagathia and Sona Mahopatra. Other songs of movie (used in background) includes today's youth anthem "Bhaag DK Bose", sung by Ram Sampath, who also composed the music for the film. Wonderful beats and total hit. "Saigal Blues", they tried to copy KL Saigal and remixed it, although the song is sung by Chetan Shashital. "Bedardi Raja" (Sona Mahopatra) and "Switty" (Keerthi Sagathia) were other songs. Lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Munna Dhiman, Ram Sampath, Akshat Verma and Chetan Shashital, which are perfect for new-generation movies. The story, as wikied was found by Aamir Khan from the thrown pile-up of scripts in his office, it was written by LA based writer Akshat Verma, who also did changes to the script 15 times before the movie started. Story was fine but screenplay ruined it, or may be the 15 drafts, or may be the director's signature style. Yes I do watched dubbed movie, i.e. Hindi dialogues, which were written just like in the pattern bollywood did dubbing to south Indian movies, not at all good, bad language is not the problem but dialogue was, take an example, they dubbed "Just Go" with "Just Jao", now who says that, "Just Go" will be fine in Hindi-version also. Actors did their job well, all 3 Imran, Kunaal and Vir. Poorna Jagannathan as Menaka also did role quite well, and Vijay Raaz was awesome as always. Acting was natural. Characterization was okay, and it seems that LA based writer was impressed by the Hangover guy and hence the character of Nitin comes up. Some of the best scene includes -

  1. Bathroom scenes of Kunaal

  2. Jaa Chudail song

  3. 7% less scene

  4. Scenes including Vijay raaz and his gang

  5. 2-3 Bhaag Bhaag chasing scenes including looting of a jewellery shop

This movie is certainly not for CD/DVD, and I can say may be you enjoy more it in a theater, since there you atleast get the environment, which will certainly be absent at your home, besides being bad language as one reason, but if you missed it, no big deal, it's fine that if you miss this AAMIR KHAN venture. My rating 2/5.
