After a long wait and hypes'Delhi 6' arrived my city today. Expectations were high as it should be from the house of maker of'Rang De Basanti'. But only one word can be associated with this film after the show - "One of the Greatest Disappointment of 2009'. Even though this year just started only, I m quite sure this film will be a strong contender for that category at the end the year too.
When queued in line for matinee, I saw morning show's people coming out the cinema hall crying. But I have seen many such instances though not much intense as this. I dont believe in individual review as sometimes this will happen as a show. So I closed my ears for a while a hoped for a class movie.
I am not putting in the real story of the film here as this may hurt some people especially the makers.:)But one hint I can give is that the song'Kala Bandar' is the theme of this film. Hmmm. Interesting? But wait.
Length: 2 hours 50 mins(approx coz I haven't noticed exact time when movie started.)
Relevance of title: You must a delhiate to know exactly. But other than the locations in the films ther is not much in the film to do justice to its title.
First half: Slow to Very Slow attains pace somewhere. Almost 80% of the songs of this album comes in first half. Remember this film has almost 8 songs I believe. A song at almost 5 mins interval. That test your patience. But since ARR done a fair job with music most of us will forgive and expect for something BIG in second half.
Second half: How can a bollywood film come out without a romance. This is no exception. Predictable though. But you watch the whole day watching the cute Sonam Kapoor. I feel sympathy on Sonam for not getting a hit in 2 of her outing in Bollywood. That too under to big directors.
Poor girl. She have done a great job here too. Nothing is taking away from AB junior. He acts with ease as the character is tailor made for him. Outdated themes and concepts comes in second half which puts audience into great disappointment. Many frustrated viewers shouted so loud that some dialog passe unheard. But I m sure nobody in that hall will blame them.
Rakesh OmPrakash Mehra. You disappointed us. I will say to the readers of mouthshut. Save your money for good days to come. Avoid multiplexes coz this film just dont deserve that.
