This movie had something which wanted me to go for it right from the Day it was announced. Delhi - A City of Promise, A City which carries the dreams of many a people was the backdrop of the movie.

Initially, I thought that the movie is going to be upon the youth of delhi and thier life style. But its not that. Its more that just a love story or a clash of families.

Roshan(Abhishek Bachchan) Get's his Dad i( Waheeda Rehman) into India when she expresses her last wish. The first thing he comes to know in India is about the Kaala Bandar at the airport. He just laughs it off then.

The journey then begins, Roshan ends up in Chandni Chowk, one of the most vibrant and colorful areas of delhi, a place where people of all communities stay together. Roshan starts feeling the love and affection of the people there, the moment he arrives.

He is somewhat happy to be there but wants to get back to America ASAP. He meets a lot of colorful people starting from Baig Ali, Mamdu etc to a few negative ones like Lala Bhairam and Suresh.

In ths course he also meets Bittu Sharma( Sonam Kapoor), a wannabe Indian Idol who wants to live her dream. Amidst all this, the Kala Bandar strikes again, creates havoc and the people keep wondering who he is.

Now comes the real crux of the story, the Kala Bandar, sitting with the humans. very inevitably gives the color of a Hindu Muslim fight to this kaala Bandar issue with Hindus blaming the Kaala Bandar to be a Muslim and vice-versa.

This lead to riots in the area and everything goes topsy turvy. Roshan is worried by the happening and he as well is denied entry into the temple and the masjid cuz he is half a muslim and half a hindu.

He tries to convince people on not to fight but all in vain and then he does something to stop these riots happening, stop Bittu from running away with the wrong and many other things. But this this almost costs his life. What did he do? How did he do that? Watch it to know it.

Now, the film has a gripping screenplay for me atleast. At no point was I bored, though the doses of documentish camera work might get some people to get bored.

Performances: In a ROM, film the performances are to be good and Delhi 6 is no different. Abhishek Bachchan, though he is not as good as he was in Yuva or Guru, still manages to give out a worthy performance. Abhishek Bachchan in these kind of roles excel and he seriously should concentrate more on serious cinema rather than those glossy, idiotic YRF flicks.

Sonam Kapoor looks nice and acts well. Cudnt belive that Bansali made her look aweful in Saawariya.

Om Puri and Rishi Kapoor are good. Pawan Malhotra kind of dissapointed considering his caliber. Waheeda Rehman is awesome.

Atul Kulkarni is one of the best performers in the movie and he is just fantastic and complete natural as Gobar. Raju Dobriyal, after stellar performances in Omkara and 1971 hits the right button yet again. His performance is also very good. The rest of the cast is very good, including the South Indian actress Aditi Rao.

Music: One Word - Brilliant, but my personal Favorite is Masakali. Genda Fool is also awesome.

Overall - The movie had the right ingredients to be a great one, though the documentation look to it makes it a "not so hot proposition" with the public. Nevertheless, Delhi 6 is the best movie to release so far in 2009.
