Much anticipated movie, Delhi-6, finally released today. High hopes and expectations were being set from this movie. Did it meet all those expectations? All are raring to find that out...

Let's go on a journey into the movie to discover........

Roshan(Abhishek Bachchan)* visits his home in Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi, India with his ailing grandmother(Waheeda Rehman)*. The movie takes on from here.... and tries to showcase his disgust at the system, his fascination with love and warmth the city provides, his dilemma to understand whether he likes it here or was better off in America, his heart's urge, and last but not least, his connection with his inner self...

This, in short, was the essence of the movie. Roshan's character not only searches deep within his own inner self but it acts as a symbolism to revolution that is the need of the hour in India.

The movie was presented as a stage act... all the characters were presented keeping in mind the theme of the movie and all of them shared the screen space to deliver the message of the movie..

All the incidents, characters were involved in various kinds of gimmicks which are in essence daily chores of a middle-class Indian... only to be revealed in the end that these gimmicks were actually acting as a breeding ground for that message delivery.

Just like ROPM created fantastic symbolism in RDB by reflecting images of yesteryear Independence fighters of India in the protagonists of the movie, this time as well he used symbolism in an interesting manner.

Kaala bandargimmick which ruled headlines of Delhi newspapers and News channels some years back was utilized effectively in the movie to show the dark side which is hidden in each one of us. The whole movie revolves around showcasing that all the people are busy chasing that *kaalabandar... and are oblivious of the *kaala bandar *hidden inside them..

*The movie takes a rather interesting turn and slaps on the face of intellectual souls when the most important truth is highlighted by an insane man, his mirror and his soulful words..

zarre zarre mein usi ka noor hai

jhaank khud mein wo na tujhse door hai

ishq hai uss se to sabse ishq kar

iss ibadat ka yehi dastoor hai

iss mein uss mein aur uss mein hai wohi

yaar mera har taraf bharpoor hai

The movie did not boast anything.. It just showed us the mirror..

The script is flawless. Director pulled it off quite well and managed to put forward a kaleidoscope which deals with a serious topic in a comic way..

Every character of the movie was more than alive and performed effortlessly towards delivering the message of the movie..

And.. I did like the way Old Delhi has been captured in it...

Something was wrong somewhere else.. where.. I am still trying to figure out... :)
