DRDO symbol of our independence. Review on Defence Research and Development Organization - DRDO

I wanted to write this review on DRDO as response to a reviews wanted call given by Kamini......I dont think I need to give any statistical details about the DRDO's products as ITPROFESSIONALZ has given that detail.....I will tell you why we should put more money into research......Yes we have Failed in some missile tests.....So Does that mean we should hold research spending and buy Arms from others...This is not economics this is Security.....We can buy Arms from other countries at a cheaper rate but that should not put us into a situation where we are highly dependent on others....What if in future they pose a security threat to us...or what if in future they deny to give us support.....We cannot do anything then....Independence is highly important here....

I think This is the right time to give more funds to DRDO because scientists will work hard to prove themselves so more investment will prove more productivity......If we stop spending it could mean future trouble because we cannot do over night research even if we are ready to to spend huge amount in the future as time is a major factor here.....And we should also see how we have successfully produced many Arms and Defense equipments in the past..... Failure is the best part of any research as it answer many questions and can lead to breakthroughs......We must also see India's Successful track record on Nuclear technology especially the Fast breeder reactors it is not only useful to defense but also fulfill our future energy needs as these reactor produce both fuel and energy from the fuel it uses....Also if India has stopped this research think what would have happened, greater dependence of India on other countries for fuel and energy.....this example also will tell you the importance of time. Let me explain you in detail....The fast breeder reactors takes a lot of time to produce more fuel from the fuel it uses. It is in the order of 20 to 30 years. This is the time it takes to produce significant amounts of fuel from the fuel it uses.....So time is the most important factor......And one more thing we can notice in defense research are, these research are they can help civilian research on related fields. This can be seen in this world getting computer from Defense research, Cell phones Satellite systems, the CDMA communication systems, the advancements in Cryptography and related sciences, and many more....We can see great technological advancements during the World war 2. And the best out of them is the Nuclear sciences as it will be the major player in our future energy needs.......

Apart from this there is one other factor that is national pride on us being independent. Think of America spending a lot on NASA. It is not as important as defense but still more money is pumped into it....Why? its because it gives national pride to say "We were the first to go to moon and most importantly We are independent!" To be true India was more productive when it was under Britain's rule. So is it right for us to revert back to that? We are not machines which work on the basis of just productivity and efficiency. We are humans. We have a heart and we are emotional beings....Independence Gives pride...And that pride transforms into joy....

I think this Review may or may not be coherent as I have written it with haste but I hope I have expressed what I want to express and one more thing I am getting addicted to writing reviews as a result of which I can't concentrate on my CAT preparation so I have decided to stop reviewing till November 19th........This is my last review till then.......C u soon.......
